Abstract

The invention relates to a holder (1, 5) for at least two different cosmetic products, wherein the holder is suitable for containing dissimilar cosmetic products. The choice is hereby simplified and the chance of mistakes, which is great in the case of colours which only differ slightly, is reduced. The holder preferably comprises means for applying cosmetic products, such as a mechanism for causing the lipstick (6) to move out of the holder or a brush (4) for applying nail varnish. According to another preferred embodiment, the holder comprises two connectable parts (1, 5) which are each suitable for containing a cosmetic product. Yet another option is hereby created which can now take place within a limited, predetermined range.

Description

HOLDER FOR DISSIMILAR COSMETICS
The present invention relates to a holder for at least two different cosmetic products .
It is often the case with cosmetic products that their colours are related to each other. It is therefore usual for instance to apply nail varnish and lipstick of the same colour. It is likewise usual to apply mascara and eyeshadow of the same or a contrasting colour, optionally in combination with lipstick.
The user has heretofore selected from a display shelf holders with the relevant colours of lipstick and nail varnish. There is a need for means to simplify the choice, i.e. to limit this to only a single holder.
This object is achieved by a holder which is suitable for containing dissimilar cosmetic products. The choice is hereby simplified and the chance of mistakes, which is great in the case of colours which only differ slightly, is reduced.
The holder preferably comprises means for applying cosmetic products, such as a mechanism for causing the lipstick to move out of the holder or a brush for applying nail varnish.
According to another preferred embodiment, the holder comprises two connectable parts which are each suitable for containing a cosmetic product. Yet another option is hereby created which can now take place within a limited, predetermined range.
This preferred embodiment can be further developed into a set of holders which comprises a first and second sub-set and wherein each of the parts of a first sub-set can be coupled to each of the parts of a second sub-set.
An attractive sales structure can hereby be presented, wherein options are provided on the one hand and predetermined combinations are suggested on the other. The user can easily keep a combination together once it has been chosen. Furthermore, if more of the one type of cosmetic is used, it can easily be replenished separately. According to yet another embodiment the first sub-set comprises only one element, the element can be placed in a support and the second sub-set can be placed in a support .
Other attractive preferred embodiments are specified in the remaining sub-claims.
The present invention will be elucidated hereinbelow with reference to the annexed drawings, in which: figure 1 is a perspective view of a holder according to a first embodiment of the invention; figure 2 is a perspective view of a display with parts of holders according to the invention,- and figure 3 is a perspective view of a support element for parts of a holder according to a third embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 shows a holder which is suitable for containing and applying nail varnish and for containing and applying lipstick. For this purpose the holder comprises a cylindrical container 1 which is provided with a screw thread 2 on its upper side. Fitting hereon is a ring 3 inside which is arranged a radially extending surface 4, not shown in the drawing, to the underside of which is attached a brush 4. The radial surface serves to close the container and as carrier for brush 4. A cylinder 5 extends upward from ring 3, inside which cylinder a lipstick 6 is arranged. Lipstick 6 can be moved upward or downward in per se known manner by rotating the ring 3. Use is made herein of a mechanism not shown in the drawing, but which forms part of the prior art.
Finally, cylinder 5 and the lipstick 6 protruding therefrom can be closed off by means of a cap 7 which clamps onto cylinder 5. As shown in the drawing, cylinder 5 is herein preferably provided on its outside with ribs 8 with which the cap 7 can be fastened onto cylinder 5 so as to be fixed against rotation.
It will be apparent to a skilled person that similar constructions can be designed for a combination of for instance mascara and eyeshadow.
Other combinations can also be envisaged, such as eyeshadow and lipstick, or combinations of eyeliner or graphite pencil with one of the above stated products . According to a particularly attractive preferred embodiment the holder comprises two mutually connectable parts which are each suitable for containing a cosmetic product .
This provides the option for the user to herself make a choice from the selection of colours of a product placed in the first part of the holder, and to then couple this to a second part of a holder, which part is provided with a different cosmetic product in the same or a matching colour. The user can herein make a choice from available colours of the relevant cosmetic product. The above introduction starts from a situation where the parts of the second type contain only the same product type; it is however also possible for the parts of the second type to offer a choice of different product types and not only a choice of the same product type in different colours .
In both cases the advantage results that the user, once she has made a combination, can continue to apply the same combination; when a product of one determined type is applied, it is not always necessary to seek a product of the second type in a matching colour, since the combination is already present in the holder.
As stated in the claims, both parts can be mutually coupled, for instance by means of a clamp or snap connection.
In order to draw the attention of the potential user to the options on display, use is preferably made of a sales display, wherein parts of the first sub-set and parts of the second sub-set are shown. The user can then choose her desired colours . The display is preferably adapted to show parts of the first sub-set with the coupling means upward and to show the second sub-set with the coupling means downward.
It is then easy for a user, once she has made her choice from the first sub-set, to couple the part chosen therefrom to a part from the second sub-set. For this purpose it is only necessary to couple the part chosen from the first sub-set to a part of the second sub-set. The advantage of a clamp or snap connection becomes manifest here. Because the colour of the sub-set of parts placed in the sales display with the coupling means upward cannot be clearly seen, the display is preferably adapted to show the colour.
Such a display is shown in figure 2. Figure 2 shows a sales display 10 which is provided with a display case 11 in which are placed parts of holders containing lipstick. Placed in part 12 of the sales display are parts of holders containing nail varnish. The parts 13 with lipstick are ordered in the display in accordance with colour. The same is the case for the parts 14 with nail varnish. A user can make her choice of the colour of lipstick, take the relevant holder 13 from the display case and connect this to a part 14 for nail varnish in the colour of her choice by means of a clamp or snap connection.
It will be apparent that the invention is not limited to a snap connection,- it is also possible to use for instance a screw connection or bayonet fitting.
Finally, figure 3 shows a situation in which a support 15 is provided with a single holder half 16 from a first sub-set of holder halves and a number of holder halves 17-20 from the other sub-set. The holder of the first sub-set is a lipstick holder 16. This can be coupled to a holder half from the other sub-set, such as a bottle of lip gloss 17, a holder for eyeliner 18, a holder for eyeshadow 19 and a holder for nail varnish 20. This embodiment is suitable to be sold as one whole. The user can then combine the lipstick with lip gloss as the occasion requires, when for instance she goes out.

Claims

1. Holder for at least two different cosmetic products, characterized in that the holder is suitable for containing dissimilar cosmetic products.
2. Holder as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the holder comprises means for applying cosmetic products .
3. Holder as claimed in claim 1 or 2 , characterized in that the holder is suitable for containing at least two products chosen from the following set: lipstick, lip gloss, nail varnish, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, blusher and cover-up stick.
4. Holder as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the colours of the products present in the holder are matching.
5. Holder as claimed in claims 1-4, characterized in that the holder is suitable for containing two cosmetic products .
6. Holder as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that the holder comprises two mutually connectable parts which are each suitable for containing a cosmetic product .
7. Holder as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that the parts can be mutually coupled by a clamp connection.
8. Holder as claimed in claim 5, 6 or 7, characterized in that the holder is suitable for containing lipstick.
9. Holder as claimed in claim 8 , characterized in that the lipstick is provided with means for carrying the stick outside a casing protecting the lipstick and that the casing is provided with a removable cap.
10. Holder as claimed in claim 9, characterized in that the cap can be coupled non-rotatably to the casing.
11. Holder as claimed in claim 9 or 10, characterized in that the holder comprises a flask for a liquid cosmetic product and that the flask is closable by the bottom surface of the cylinder.
12. Holder as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that a first of the two parts is provided on its coupling side with an applicator for applying the cosmetic product present in the second part.
13. Set of holders as claimed in claim 6 , characterized in that the set comprises a first and second sub-set and that each of the parts of a first sub- set can be coupled to each of the parts of a second subset.
14. Set of holders as claimed in claim 13 , characterized in that each of the parts of the first subset is adapted to contain the same type of cosmetic product, and that the parts of the second sub-set are adapted to contain different products .
15. Set of holders as claimed in claim 13 or 14, characterized in that a number of parts belonging to the first and second sub-set are placed in a sales display and that the display is adapted to show parts of the first sub-set with the coupling means upward and to show the second sub-set with the coupling means downward.
16. Set of holders as claimed in claim 13, characterized in that the first sub-set comprises only one element .
17. Set of holders as claimed in claim 16, characterized in that the element is formed by a lipstick.
18. Set of holders as claimed in claim 17, characterized in that the element of the first sub-set and the elements of the second sub-set can be placed in a support .
