More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and an arrangement for an extended- nip roll, in particular for a press shoe roll of a shoe calender, which extended-nip roll includes: a press shoe roll which is provided with a flexible roll mantle; a press shoe unit inside the press shoe roll for loading and pressing the flexible roll mantle against a backup roll of the press shoe roll, in which connection the extended nip is closed and in operation; and at least one support shoe member inside the press shoe roll for attenuating the vibration of the flexible roll mantle and for supporting the roll mantle when the flexible roll mantle is substantially unloaded and the extended nip is open and out of operation.

It shall be emphasized that, from the standpoint of the primary object of the invention, it is not essential how the support shoe element serving the function of the doctor and, in addition thereto, the function of oil recovery, is shaped, and so many different alternatives are thus feasible in order to achieve the desired objective.

Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé et un dispositif relatifs à un rouleau à pince élargie et en particulier sur le rouleau à patin presseur d'une calandre à patin presseur. Ledit rouleau à pince élargie comprend un rouleau à patin presseur (1) et à enveloppe souple (2) ainsi qu'un patin presseur (3) placé dans le rouleau à patin presseur (1) et servant à charger et presser l'enveloppe souple (2) contre le contre-rouleau (4) du rouleau à patin presseur (1), la pince élargie (N) étant dans ce cas fermée et en fonctionnement. L'invention porte également sur au moins un élément support (10) monté dans le rouleau à patin presseur (1) et destiné à atténuer les vibrations de l'enveloppe souple (2) et à soutenir ladite enveloppe. Pour réduire les forces de frottement, soutenir l'enveloppe et atténuer les vibrations, l'invention prévoit que l'élément support de patin (10) puisse soit prendre une position d'attente (VA) où il est distant de la surface intérieure (5) de l'enveloppe (2) ou une position de fonctionnement (TA) où il est placé soit contre soit à faible distance de la surface intérieure (5) de l'enveloppe souple (2).
