Abstract
A method for removing chewing gum or similar substances such as glues, mastics, gluey residues etc. which are dried or crushed on a support using very low temperatures and liquid gas for example. The invention consists in pouring a small amount of liquid gas (6) inside a frame (1), whereby the base of said frame is slightly dampened, and which is placed on the support (3) surrounding the chewing gum. The intense cold which results from the evaporation of the liquid gas (6) modifies the structure of the chewing gum which retracts, becomes brittle and can then be easily removed by detaching it with the aid of a scraper or by breaking it using a small hammer and subsequently suctioning it after it has been brushed. The inventive method can be used on substances that are similar to chewing gum.
Description
NETTOYAGE DE CHEWING-GUMAVEC DU GAZLIQUIDE CHEWING-GUM CLEANING WITH GAZLIQUIDE
The present invention relates to a method for cleaning che ing-gum (s. G.) Or substances of the same structure.
On constate d'ailleurs souvent sur des sols, 0 fraîchement nettoyés, la persistance de traces de (s. g.) qui donnent une désagréable impression de saleté .-Currently it is very difficult or even impossible to remove the many chewing gum (s. G.) Crushed on the ground, by physical means alone, not using chemicals always more or less polluting. We often see, on freshly cleaned floors, the persistence of traces of (s. G.) Which give an unpleasant impression of dirt.
Le refroidissement à très basse température s'obtient facilement avec un gaz liquide, par exemple de l'azote liquide(-180° ) .-The proposed cleaning process consists in modifying the structure of the chewing gum 5 by cooling to very low-temperature, which shrinks it and makes it brittle. It then becomes easy to peel it from the support to which it adheres. If this support is smooth, just peel it off with a spatula or a metal scraper; the (s. g.) is then removed practically at once. If the support is rough it may be necessary to break the (s.g.) hardened by the cold by hammering it, the splinters can then be removed by brushing and vacuuming. Cooling at very low temperatures is easily obtained with a liquid gas, for example liquid nitrogen (-180 °).
The application works as follows: we place on the area where the (sg) is crushed on its support, a small plastic cylinder for example, of the order of 4 cm in diameter and 1 to 2cm high, so that all of the (sg) can be seen in the opening. It suffices to pour the liquid gas into the cylinder. The liquid gas covers the bottom of the cylinder with a film, a few seconds before evaporating.
The cold due to the evaporation of the liquid gas is exerted on the (sg) and modifies its structure as indicated above. So that sealing is ensured between the cylinder and the support, it is enough to soak in the water beforehand the base of the cylinder which will be in contact with the ground.
By freezing under the action of cold, the water 5 turns into ice and the liquid gas remains trapped in the cylinder.
0 fig : après évaporation le cadre est enlevé et le chewing-gum( 2 ) est décollé à la spatule, ou brisé avec un petit marteau puis enlevé par brossage et aspiration.-The different phases of this operation are described in the following figures: 10 figl: positioning of the frame (l) above the chewing gum (2) crushed on the support (3). fig2: installation of the frame (l) on the support (3) around the chewing gum (2), the base of the frame (l) to i5ete previously .L g rely soft (5). fig3: liquid gas (β) poured into the frame (1) spreads out in a thin film and freezes the water, moistening (4) the base of the frame (l) and making it waterproof. 0 fig: after evaporation the frame is removed and the chewing gum (2) is peeled off with a spatula, or broken with a small hammer then removed by brushing and suction.
-The industrial application of this 5 nvention is relatively simple. Using a cryogenic container with a total weight. Filled with liquid nitrogen for example, of the order of 10 kg, equipped with a racking device, and movable on wheels, a plastic washer 0 is placed the base of which has been previously wet or on wet ground, on the site of a crushed chewim-gum. We pour a film of liquid gas through the draw-off pipe, into the washer on the chewim-gum then after 5 evaporation, we remove the washer, we take off the chewim-gum or we crumble it with a small mass and we vacuum the parts.
