Abstract

A storage container (4; 5) adapted to be mounted on a tractor (1) of the kind that is utilised for field works such as fertilization, seeding and spraying of crops with crop protecting agents. The storage container (4; 5) is provided with at least one mounting (8; 9) for an agricultural implement and can therefore advantageously be fitted together with the tractor and agricultural implements in multiple combinations.

Description

Storage container for a tractor
The invention relates to a storage container adapted to be mounted on a tractor used for field work such as fertiliza- tion, seeding and spraying crops with crop protecting agents.
Each of the known storage containers are connected to the respective tractor and a given agricultural implement m a structure that is designed for one specific purpose Thereby, the capabilities of the tractor and the implements are restricted
The object of the invention is to provide a storage container of the kind mentioned m the opening paragraph that is adapted to be detachably build together with a tractor and agricultural implements m multiple combinations, and the novel and unique features according to the invention, whereby this is achieved, is the fact that the container is provided with at least one mounting for an agricultural implement.
The storage container can advantageously be detachably mounted on a lift belonging to the tractor In this case, e.g. a conventional three-point mounting can be fitted on the side of the storage that is facing m the opposite direction of the lift so that an agricultural implement can be mounted on the container m the same way as it conventionally is mounted on the lift of the tractor.
On the underside of the container, mountings can furthermore be fitted for mounting furrow packer wheels. Thereby, an additional advantage is obtained m that the supply m the container will act as the required load on the furrow packer wheels The storage container can typically be made of plastic and reinforced with an outer frame of e.g. steel. The mountings are then expediently fitted on this frame.
The invention will be explained in greater detail below, describing only exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawing, in which
Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic side elevational view of a tractor with two storage containers according to the invention, and
Fig. 2 is a back view of the tractor in fig. 1.
Figs. 1 and 2 diagrammatically show a tractor 1 with a front lift 2 and a back lift 3. The two lifts 2; 3 are of a known kind and will therefore not be described any further in this application. They are both designed for three-point mounting.
In the following, it is assumed that the tractor shown is to be utilised for different kinds of field works, such as fertilization, seeding and spraying of crops with crop protecting agents .
The supply for these operations are during operation stored in at least one storage container according to the invention. In the case shown, two such storage containers are utilised, namely a front container 4 mounted on the front lift 2 and a back container 5 mounted on the back lift 3.
Each container is made of plastic which is reinforced with an outer frame 6 of e.g. steel. On this frame are fitted mountings 7 that are suited for detachable mounting on a lift 2; 3.
On the opposite side of the mountings 7, each container has a corresponding mounting 8 for mounting of an agricultural implement which is often mounted directly on e.g. the back
On the underside of the frame 6 of each container are furthermore fitted fittings 9 for mounting of furrow packer wheels 10 and a hitch 11 for towage of an agricultural implement (not shown) .
The arrangement shown m figs . 1 and 2 can expediently be utilised m combination with a drill (not shown) which then is mounted on the back container 5 as described above .
In order for the seed share (not shown) of the drill to easily and securely be able to penetrate the soil to a specified depth, the soil must first be made friable. This is normally done by ploughing and harrowing the soil. However m doing so, the soil becomes relatively soft so that the wheel of the tractor will sink a little into the soil and leave wheel tracks when it drives across the field.
The furrow packer wheels serve for pressing the intermediate soil area down to the same level as the wheel tracks so that the seed shares are able to put down seed gram m the same depth all over the field.
As shown m fig. 1, the furrow packer wheels 10 are mounted on the front container 4 which again is mounted on the front lift 2 which is adjusted m such a way that the front container can move freely up and down.
When the front container is filled with an appropriate ballast, it will therefore affect the furrow packer wheels with an adequately great force for the furrow packer wheels to be able to press the subjacent soil down to the same level as the wheel tracks of the tractor. The force can m some cases be superimposed by a downward pressure from the lift. In some cases, the ballast in the front container can merely be water. In other cases, the ballast can be seed grain to be seeded and which together with a corresponding quantity of seed grain in the back container advantageously ensures that the tractor can operate for a long time without having to stop again to fill the containers with seed grain.
The arrangement can moreover be varied in many different ways. In this way, the tractor can be operating with only one container, e.g. the back container which then carries the furrow packer wheels, and the drill can instead of being mounted on the back lift 3 be trailed by means of the hitch 11.
With one or two storage containers, the arrangement can furthermore be utilised for many different kinds of field work with the respective agricultural implements (not shown) mounted on one of the lifts or on a storage container or trailed behind the tractor.
Examples of field works are fertilization and spraying of crops with crop protecting agents.
The storage container according to the invention can furthermore be provided with different kinds of mountings than the ones shown in the drawing and described above.
