Description

The invention relates to a device for storing belt material, in particular for seat belt systems in motor vehicles, with at least one belt retractor and at least one deflection fitting.
Conventional seat belt systems have seat belts that give the buckled passenger great freedom of movement when he slowly removes his upper body from the backrest. A rapid forward movement of the passenger's upper body usually leads to the blocking of the seat belt and holds the passenger in place. The different webbing lengths here are wound up in webbing retractors (or retractors) and thus stored. Due to the uniform thickness of seat belts, standardized retractors have been developed here that are less or not suitable for thicker webbing material, since thicker webbing material applies more than conventional webbing and would therefore exceed the storage space of a conventional webbing retractor.
Zusätzlich kann es zu Problemen kommen, wenn eine besonders kleine Person beim Anlegen des Gurtbandes eine relativ kurze Länge des - 9In particular, seat belts in the form of tubes, in the interior of which in turn inflatable inlets are accommodated in the form of specially designed airbags, cannot easily be accommodated on the conventional winding rollers. The solution of accommodating the tubular belt strap, which is thicker than conventional belts, between a deflection fitting arranged approximately in the shoulder or head region of the passenger and the belt retractor, is often not sufficient due to the limitation of the distance between the belt retractor and the deflection fitting. In addition, problems can arise if a particularly small person has a relatively short length of belt when putting on the belt - 9

It is an object of the invention to propose a device for storing belt material which is suitable for compensating for large differential lengths of belt material.
The object is achieved with a device according to claim 1. Accordingly, a device for storing belt material, in particular for seat belt systems in motor vehicles, is proposed with at least one belt retractor and at least one deflection fitting, which is characterized in that between the belt retractor and the deflection fitting Deflection roller is arranged. This significantly increases the storage space for a thicker webbing compared to conventional systems. In an advantageous development, the device according to the invention has two deflection rollers which are spaced apart from one another. These two deflection rollers, housed for example in the area of the B-pillar of a motor vehicle, can almost double the storage length for belt material without any particular effort. This type of storage of belt material is so advantageous for bulky, multi-layer belt material, since only it means an additional arrangement of simple deflection devices, whereby the conventional belt retractor devices can continue to be used. In terms of cost, this is an important factor that should not be underestimated. There is also no additional development effort for specially adapted retractors.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the deflecting rollers are arranged such that they can be adjusted relative to one another and between the reeling device and the deflecting fitting. This enables an individual adjustment of a seat belt system for a specific person or body size.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to a drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a highly schematic of a conventional arrangement of a reel of a conventional simple seat belt.
FIG. 1 shows the essential components of a seat belt system 2 according to the state of the art in a motor vehicle (not shown) in a very highly schematic manner. Here, two outlines 5 and 95 of two dummies simulating the size of passengers are specified. As with all safety systems, the seat belt system 2 shown should also be able to be used for different occupant sizes. The position of the seat belt is designed to provide protection for the occupants of a vehicle in various crash situations. The belt is therefore attached so that it protects the head and neck of even the smallest 5% of women and is also suitable for protecting 95% of men. These person sizes are referred to as the so-called 95% dummy (95) and the 5% dummy (5), which are intended to simulate the size ranges of the persons to be protected. In FIG. 1, a seat belt 8 is shown, which, anchored in an anchor 4 over the pelvis of the dummies 5, 95, is inserted into an end fitting which is generally designed as a tongue and which is fastened in an anchor 6. From there, the safety belt 8 runs over the upper body of the dummies 5, 95 and then via a deflection fitting 14, which can be designed as a very simple deflection edge or roller, into a retractor or automatic retractor 12. Spring-loaded retractors are known to the person skilled in the art and are therefore described here not explained in detail.
WFIG. 2 shows a seat belt system 22 which essentially differs from the system described in FIG. 1 in that the seat belt is divided into two different length sections, namely a so-called hose section 28d containing an inflatable air bag and a belt section 28e designed as a conventional seat belt. The hose section 28d is fastened in an anchoring 24, runs similarly to the previously described seat belt 8 over the pelvis of the dummies 5, 95 into a tongue which is anchored in an end fitting 26 and from there over the upper body of the dummies to approximately above the shoulder - Head area of the dummies. In this area, the tubular part 28d of the seat belt ends and merges into a simple belt section 28e, which is continued from there via a deflection fitting 14, via a deflection roller 25 and a further deflection roller 27 and finally into a retractor 12. The double-walled hose belt 28d containing an airbag-like hose can be supplied via the anchors 24 or 26. In the event of a collision, the hose belt 28d is then inflated and protects the (dummies) occupants of the vehicle (not shown) from injuries. The inflatable tube belt 28d of the seat belt 22 is thicker than the non-inflatable belt portion 28e. The thicker, multi-walled tissue cannot be wound up as easily as single-layer tissue in retractors. W

The invention therefore proposes to create a storage path in front of the retractor 12, which is realized by at least one deflection roller arranged between the belt retractor 12 and the deflection fitting 14. In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2, a device for storing belt material with two deflection rollers 25 and 27 spaced apart from one another is described. Depending on the configuration of the vehicle in which the safety device 22 is accommodated, it can also be imagined that the retractor 12 is rotated upward by 180 °, so that only one, for example the deflection roller 25, has to be provided. The storage device with a deflection roller is particularly suitable for installing in the rear or accommodating the device according to the invention in convertibles and the like. The main advantage of the device according to the invention is that the multi-layer fabric of the hose belt 28d can be easily guided over deflecting rollers 25, 27 and accommodates the entire length section to be stored, as shown in broken lines in FIG. 2 and designated by the reference symbol 28d ' can be. FIG. 2 also shows that the single-layer belt section 28e 'is almost completely wound up in the retractor 12, the tubular section 28d' shown in broken lines ending shortly before the retractor 12. The significantly larger winding or deflection radius of the deflection rollers 25, 27 compared to the winding radius of the retractor 12 enables problem-free deflection and storage of multilayered tissue. It is difficult to accommodate this length section in a retractor 12 on the one hand for reasons of space and on the other hand for reasons of comfort when winding up. The seat belt webbing 22 (28e and 28d) must run smoothly and may, if the passenger has put it on. don't bother him. In order to obtain the most favorable storage length for the respective application, the deflection rollers 25, 27 between the deflection fitting and the retractor and in relation to one another can be adjusted. This setting can also be varied, for example stored in a person-related manner, using servomotors and the like. Analogously, this is already known from individually adjustable seating positions.
The seat belt to be used for the proposed solution or the hose belt adjoining it can be freely selected for the respective application. Details in this regard are not the subject of the invention and are therefore not further described. Likewise, the loading of a tubular, inflatable belt webbing with a gas volume which is released explosively in the event of a collision via the anchoring point 24 or the anchoring point 26 into a closing tongue of the tubular seat belt according to the prior art is conceivable. With the proposed solution according to the invention, all combinations and transitions from single webbing to tubular - 5 -
