Description

Gift package/bottle rack
The present invention relates to a device for transporting and supporting bottles and elongated objects and the like and comprising at least a first element for supporting at least one bottle and at least two gable elements connectable to said element for supporting said bottles.
In transporting of, for example, gift packages it happens relatively often that in the case these contain wine or other liquid contents, one or more bottles will come into pieces during the transport from the giver to the receiver and that the contents leak out in the package and also destroy other neighbouring packages during the transport and this results in often large inconveniences .
The object of the present invention is to provide a package for transporting and supporting of bottles of the type mentioned above, by which the drawbacks mentioned above are eliminated. The features characterizing the invention are set out in the claims enclosed.
Thanks to the invention there has now been provided a device which in an excellent way fulfils its purposes in the same time as it can be manufactured in a simple and cheap way. The elements which are used to support the bottles can be used both during the transport of the bottles and also by the user as a rack for exposing the bottles, one has received a solution which in fact solves two purposes. In a disassembled condition the different elements are a safe protection for the bottles both from the sides and in front of the same as well as behind the bottles. In placing all elements and bottles in a surrounding package a very safe positioning is achieved within the complete package. After opening of the packages the different elements can be mounted by one simple operation, so that the bottles supported by the elements are positioned above each other by aid of the two gable elements, either by a screw arrangement or by aid of gable parts provided with grooves, in which the elements supporting the bottles are fixed by a snapping operation.
Some preferred embodiments of the invention will be described below, reference being made to the enclosed drawings in which
Fig. 1 is a perspective view in an angle oblique from below of an element for supporting two bottles,
Fig. 2 is the element illustrated in Fig. 1 in a mounted condition together with a further element formed in the same way and which together with the first element is fastened in a position above the first one by aid of two gable elements in constituting of a bottle rack,
Fig. 3 is an alternative embodiment of the gable element provided with grooves for fixing the elements for supporting the bottles,
Fig. 4 is still another embodiment of a gable element formed by a wire or the like,
Fig. 5 shows a surrounding transport package comprising two bottles with the belonging elements in a mounted condition,
Fig. 6 is an alternative embodiment of the mounted elements for constituting a rack, in which the gable elements consist of wire formations and which are connected to the end parts of the elements for supporting the bottles,
Fig. 7 is an example of an embodiment of wire formation according to Fig. 6 appears in a side-view,
Fig. 8 shows the wire formation in Fig. 7 viewed in an end view, and Fig. 9 the wire formation according to Figs. 7 and 8 is illustrated in a view from above.
The invention consists of a device which is used for transporting as well as storing in a form of a rack of bottles 5 and similar elongated objects. The different elements constituting said device constist of, which can be seen from the drawings, at least one first element 1 supporting at least one bottle arid at least two other elements 2,3 in the form of gable elements for supporting said first element. These elements 1-3 constitute in their mounted position a rack 4 for the bottle 5 and in their disconnected condition together with the package 6 surrounding the elements, a transport package 7 by the aid of which the bottles 5 and the disconnected rack 4 can be transported in a safe way from the giver to the receiver.
In fig. 1 a preferred embodiment is illustrated of an element 1 supporting two bottles 5, said element can be manufactured by a sheet or any other rigid material and which comprises two longitudinal grooves 8,9 for the bottles 5 and an angled side flanges 10,11.
Two elements 1,1' for supporting four bottles 5 are illustrated in fig. 2, said elements 1,1' are positioned in a predetermined distance from each other by aid of two gable elements 2,3 and said gable elements 2,3 are connected to the first elements by aid of screws 13 of wing-nut type or the like in openings 12 in the same .
Two alternative embodiments of gable elements 2,3 are illustrated in figs. 3 and 4, where in fig. 3 these are manufactured by a profile-formed sheet 14 having along its outer, longitudinal side edges 15,16 inclined flanges 17,18 which are provided with grooves 19,20 for positioning of the elements supporting said bottles. In fig. 4 these gable elements 2 consist of a wire, which is bent in such a way that grooves 21,22 are formed for positioning of the elements 1,1' supporting said bottles 5. In fig. 5 a transport package 7 of, for example, corrugated cardboard, which very closely surrounds its contents consisting of two bottles 5, which are placed in an element 1 illustrated in fig. 1 and where a gable element 2 is placed _in front of the same and another gable element 3 is placed behind the bottles 5 and the element supporting the same. In this fig. the bottles are illustrated with the belonging elements in a view from above where the flaps 23-26, constituting the upper side of the package 6, are in an up-right position. Before closing of the package 6 and folding down of the flaps 23-26 over the bottles another bottle element according to fig. 1 is placed above said bottles 5, whereupon these after closing of the package 6 flaps are well protected within the package, and that said package thereafter can be transported and be exposed for careless handling without having said bottles broken thanks to buffer which is constituted by the elements which protect and support the bottles and which can be used as a rack by the receiver of the package after having opened the same and put the different elements together.
The elements 1,1' supporting the bottles are illustrated in fig. 6 and from this fig. one can see that they can be positioned above each other by help of wire formations which can be mounted from the end parts of the same, and in fig. 7-9 an embodiment is illustrated of a wire formation 27, which constitutes a gable element and which are applicable over the elements 1,1' supporting said bottles for each angled side flange parts 10,11.
