Abstract
The invention relates to the process of liquids purification from suspended particles and to the filters for the implementation of the process (variants). The object of the invention is use of ecologically clean material and as a tail receipt of ecologically clean production particularly in food industry as well as the possibility of multiple use of filtration material. The another object of invention is to draw up filters with comparatively large ability of dirt absorption which can be used in food industry. The above mentioned object is executed by filtration of liquid through tuff using of the cartridge filter type, so depending on content, volumes and purification level of liquids to be filtered the cartridge filters are used which have filtration element made of tuff fragment or tuff reduced fragments placed in framework consisting of internal and external nets.
Description
PROCESS FOR PURIFICATION OF LIQUIDS AND FILTERS FOR CARRYING OUT THIS PROCESS (VARIANTS)
The invention relates to the process for purification of liquids from suspended particles and can be used in different branches of industry particularly in food industry.
The process of purification of sewerage water from organic pollution and oil products is known. By that one the purification is executed through filters of activated charcoal [1].
But that process is featured by comparatively small ability of absorption of filtration material volume unit and big quantity of activated charcoals. Furthermore especially in use of food industry the filtration of liquids by activated charcoals considered as a filtration intermediate stage and the additional filtration is needed.
The process of flowing waters filtration from oil products through tuffits due to the preliminary reducing to 1/3 mm size fragments of those and firing in kiln at the temperature 350-500°C during 1,5-2 hours is known [2]. The tuffits are mountainous volcanic sedimentary rocks and the volcanic rocks (pyroclastolites) in those make 10-90% mass.
The above mentioned process does not provide the enough complete restoration of filtration material and has a limited field of use (there are not any information about use in food industry).
By the object defined the present invention is more close to the large use in food industry on the basis of liquids purification by asbestos-cellulose filtration materials in use of filtration presses [3],
From the environmental and health care point of view this type is not prospective in general and especially in food industry by reason of bad effect of asbestos on organism. At the same time the restoration of mentioned filtration material is technically difficult to do, hence the mentioned arrangement is comparatively material-intensive and voluminous. For that reason currently and especially in food industry the membrane filters are in large use which have not the mentioned shortcomings. But the cost price of membrane filters is high, and at the same time the use of those ones requires preliminary filtration and purification of filtration liquids which brings to increase of filtration process cost price.
The object of invention is the use of ecologically clean material and as a tail - the reception of ecologically clean production, particularly in food industry as well as the possibility of multiple use of filtration material.
The essence of invention is that according to the invention in the known process of purification through filtration of liquids the filtration is undertaken by the passing of liquid through tuff using the cartridge filter type for that goal.
According to the invention the tuffs to be used are Armenian ones - these are the result of volcano eruption in petrified condition, the rocks content in those is more than 90% mass.
According to the invention the liquids to be treated in food industry are filtered (purified) by this process, those are vinegar, strong and soft drinks, fruit and berry juices etc.
Cartridge filter is prepared by the known process of strong bodies mechanical treatment.
Depending on content, volumes and purification level of liquids to be filtered the cartridge filters types are to be used - prepared from fragment of material or from reduced to particles.
The cartridge filter for liquids purification is known, it consists of filtration element of concentrically situated poured tube type and of the elastic filtration material between tubes which collaborate with arrangement for the axial deformation of that [4].
But the known filter has not big ability of dirt absorption and low work efficiency.
The another object of invention is to draw up filters with comparatively high ability of dirt absorption which can be used in food industry.
For the achievement of object the first way is that in known filter consisting of body with in-coming and out-going canals and tube type (empty cylindrical type) filtration element, the latter, according to the invention, is prepared from tuff fragment.
On figure 1 the filter in cut is presented.
The filter consists of body 1 , cover 2, in-coming 3 and out-going 4 canals for liquids, filtration element of tube type 5 prepared from tuff fragment.
The filter works in following way.
The liquid to be purified is directed into the filter body 1 through in-coming canal 3, passing through the layer of filtration element 5, is filtered (purified) and moved off from filter through out-going canal 4.
For the achievement of object the another way is that in known filter consisting of body with in-coming and out-going canals and tube type filtration element, the latter, according to the invention, is prepared in type of framework consisting of internal and external nets in which reduced particles of tuff are situated.
On figure 2 the filter in cut is presented.
The filter consists of body 1 , cover 2, in-coming 3 and out-going 4 canals, filtration reduced particles of tuff 5 which are situated between internal 6 and external 7 nets.
The filter works in following way.
The liquid to be purified is directed into the filter body 1 through in-coming canal 3, passing through the filtration element 5 situated in internal 6 and external 7 nets, is filtered (purified) and moved off from filter through out-going canal 4.
The examples coming below can clarify the process of liquid filtration by use of both variants of invention filters according to the present invention.
EXAMPLE 1. The tube type filtration element prepared of tuff fragment of 70 mm external diameter and 300 mm height is inserted into the body of cartridge filter.
The turbid liquid to be purified is directed into the filter body through in-coming canal then passing through the layer of filtration material becomes free of suspended particles, purifies and is moved off from filter through out-going canal.
EXAMPLE 2. The framework full of reduced to 0,5 ÷ 2,0 mm size tuff fragments prepared of nets of concentrated cylinders type is inserted into the body of cartridge filter.
The liquid to be purified is directed into the filter body through in-coming canal. Passing through the layer of filtration material it becomes free of suspended particles, purifies and is moved off from filter through out-going canal.
The application of this process by use of proposed filters permits to use as a filtration material widely spread in Armenia and ecologically clean tuff with low cost price at the same time providing comparatively full restoration of filtration material characteristics which promotes the minimization of material and power-consuming intensity by use of principle of reverse washing flow as well as mechanical treatment of filtration surfaces.
