Abstract

A shoe and/or a shoe sole (4) provided with means not liable to deteriorate including and dispensing uniformly deodorizing substances (18) within the shoe at the arch support (14) on which the user's foot rests, such substances being able to be replaced once expended.

Description

Shoe provided with deodorizing means
The present invention relates to shoes and personal hygiene and, more particularly, provides a shoe provided with receptacles containing natural or synthetic deodorants that are evenly dispensed through suitable channels to the arch support provided with microholes on which the user's foot rests.
It is known that one major problem of the shoe industry is foot's comfort and hygiene, especially today that the fashion has made popular the general use of those shoes that formerly were only used as gym shoes and has encouraged the users to the use of shoes provided with plastic soles with large thickness, thus making it difficult, or even impossible, the foot perspiration.
This causes an excessive sweating of the user's foot and in many cases also evil-smelling exhalations which are embarrassing for those users and disgusting for others . A number of solutions of such problem have been proposed, however, all of them are addressed to improve the ventilation within the shoe without taking care of any residual foot sweating. Soles treated by sweet-scented substances have not been successful by the users either since such soles are liable to deteriorate quickly and have to be replaced frequently. The present invention seeks to overcome the problems mentioned above and to provide a shoe and/or a shoe sole provided with means not liable to deteriorate including and dispensing uniformly deodorizing substances within the shoe at the arch support on which the user's foot rests, such substances being able to be replaced once expended. This allows among others deodorants of different types and scents to be used. It is self evident that the invention can also find application in combination with shoes and/or soles provided with already known ventilation means, thus achieving additional advantages for the user.
Further features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings which show some preferred embodiments by way of a not limiting example. In the drawings:
Fig. 1 is a side elevation view of a shoe according to a first embodiment of the invention;
Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of a shoe provided with a chamber in the sole at the front side, i.e. at the tip;
Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of a sole heel with an upper opening giving access to an inside chamber from above; Fig. 4 shows a top plan view of the upper surface of a shoe sole crossed by a plurality of channels or scorings through which the deodorant contained in any chamber is spread uniformly to the arch support .
With reference to the above Figures the invention essentially provides a chamber or cavity 8 preferably in the thickness of sole 4 of a shoe 6 within which deodorizing substances can be put from the outside by any way. Such cavity 8 communicates with little channels or scorings 12 formed preferably on the inside surface of the sole which is covered, as usual, by an arch support 14 provided with a plurality of microholes 16. Thus, deodorizing substance 18 contained in cavity 8 and being of any solid, liquid, gaseous form can be dispensed uniformly all over the arch support bringing about beneficial effects to the foot of the shoe wearing user. The three embodiments shown in the figures differ from one another by the location of cavity 8 for the deodorant. In particular, in Fig. 1, the deodorant is put into a cavity 8 located sidewise in the thickness of the shoe sole, in Fig. 2, into a cavity 8 located at the tip 20 of the shoe, and in Fig. 3, into a cavity 8 located at the heel 22 of the shoe accessible from above. These cavities 8 are provided or not with closure wings 24 that are secured by the same methods as for example for the wings of cell containing cavities according to known techniques. Finally, it should be appreciated that the invention can advantageously dispense deodorizing substances 18 including known essences of various kind such as circulatory stimulants and/or refreshing means having beneficial effects to the user.
