Abstract

L'invention traite d'un extenseur dilatable radioactif (fig.2) que l'on peut implanter à l'intérieur d'une artère, par exemple. Dans un mode réalisation, les extenseurs peuvent être fabriqués dans des émetteurs bêta radioactifs par exposition directe à des neutrons thermiques. L'invention concerne également un modèle d'extenseur (fig.5) comprenant au moins un élément longitudinal (46) relié par une pluralité de bandes circonférentielles souples (48), lesquelles sont reliées aux éléments longitudinaux (46) de façon à favoriser la dilatation de la circonférence de l'extenseur sans que sa longueur diminue de manière correspondante. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, l'extenseur est formé par électroformage et est à base d'or.
