Abstract

La présente invention concerne une protéine ou un polypeptide isolé extrait de Xanthomonas campestris déclenchant une réponse hypersensible. Les protéines ou polypeptides déclenchant une réponse hypersensible selon la présente invention, ainsi que les molécules isolées d'ADN les codant peuvent être utilisées pour conférer aux plantes une résistance aux maladies; pour accélérer leur croissance, et/ou éliminer les insectes qui les envahissent. Pour cela, on applique l'éliciteur de réponse hypersensible sous forme non infectieuse sur les plantes ou les graines, dans des conditions efficaces, de façon à conférer aux plantes ou au plantes issues des graines une résistance aux maladies, à accélérer leur croissance, et/ou éliminer les insectes qui les envahissent. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne la production de plantes ou de graines transgéniques transformées par une molécule d'ADN codant pour l'éliciteur. On cultive alors les plantes transgéniques ou les plantes issues de graines transgéniques dans des conditions efficaces, de manière à conférer aux plantes ou aux plantes issues des graines une résistance aux maladies, à accélérer leur croissance, et/ou à éliminer les insectes qui les envahissent.
