Abstract

Connecting device (130) for bridging two juxtaposed animal mats comprises a cover (100) and a base (101). Interengaging formations such as protrusions (108) on the underside of the cover (100) and clamp (106) enable an animal mat to be sandwiched on either side of the connecting device (130). Floor covering apparatus (1101) for use in animal houses comprises a locating and securing plate (1102) which is fixable to a floor structure such as a slat, and a flexible covering mat (1103) which is removably engageable with plate (1102).
