Abstract

La présente invention concerne des matières et des procédés destinés à doter des plantes d'une résistance aux maladies. Plus spécifiquement, la présente invention concerne des composés d'acide nucléique codant un produit génique avirulent capable de provoquer une réaction hypersensible des plantes reconnaissant le produit génique. Un composé d'acide nucléique spécifiquement formulé dans la liste de séquences est un gène d'avirulence provenant de Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (un pathogène du riz) qui provoque une réaction de résistance chez le maïs. La présente invention concerne également des cellules et plantes (y compris des parties de plantes, des semences, des embryons, etc.) comprenant les composés d'acide nucléique. La présente invention concerne en outre des composés codant les produits géniques avirulents codés par les composés d'acide nucléique de la présente invention, ainsi que des procédés permettant d'induire une résistance, des procédés destinés à provoquer une mort cellulaire et des procédés destinés à influer sur d'autres procédés cellulaires de plantes.
