Abstract

A filter system comprises a wedge-shaped filter cartridge composed of a folded, concertina-like filter web the ends of which are retained together by a clip (11). Two opposite filter folds (12) are folded out of the thus obtained annular body, allowing the filter paper to take a wedge shape, the filter folds (12) forming the side walls of the wedge-shaped inner cavity. As a result, it is not necessary to seal the filter cartridge at these side surfaces, since these are part of the filter paper itself. The cost of manufacturing these wedge-shaped filter cartridges therefore substantially corresponds to the cost of manufacturing round filter cartridges, while retaining the advantages due to the small mounting space required by wedge-shaped filter cartridges.

Description

Filtersystem mit v-förmiger Filterpatrone Filter system with v-shaped filter cartridge
Beschreibungdescription
Stand der TechnikState of the art
The invention relates to a filter system with a v-shaped filter cartridge according to the preamble of claim 1. The invention also relates to a filter cartridge suitable for use in the above-mentioned filter system according to the preamble of independent claim 4.
The combination of flat filters into v-shaped filter cartridges is well known. These measures serve to optimize the flow conditions on the filter cartridge, the space required for the discharge and supply ducts being minimized. However, the disadvantage of this arrangement is the increased outlay on sealing. The v-shaped end faces of the filter cartridge must either be provided with an outer wall or individually sealed against the housing.
An optimization of the sealing effort is achieved by using known round filter cartridges. With this design, the seal can be limited to a lip on the clean-side outlet. The housings for round filter cartridges are generally more voluminous. In addition, their cylindrical structure in the installation space often results in a dead volume that is difficult to use.
The object of the invention is a combination of the advantages of an optimized volume of the inlet and outlet and the smallest possible necessary sealing surface.
Vorteile der ErfindungThis object is solved by the features of claim 1. Advantages of the invention
The filter system according to the invention consists of a housing into which a V-shaped filter cartridge can be inserted through an opening. The opening can be closed with a lid. Sealing is required between the housing and its cover and between the raw and clean side of the filter cartridge in the housing. The filter cartridge is now designed such that at least one of the two wedge-shaped side surfaces consists of at least four filter folds. The two middle filter folds are pinched on one side into the wedge-shaped interior of the V-filter cartridge. The need for a seal on this side surface is therefore eliminated because the two flat filter parts can be made from a filter web.
A sensible embodiment of the invention provides for the construction of the wedge-shaped side surfaces of the filter cartridges described on both sides. Similar to round filter cartridges, the filter paper for this variant can be joined together in a ring using a clamping rail. A seal is then only necessary on the w-shaped end faces of the filter cartridge. It is advantageous to cast the end faces in a plastic, in particular a PU foam, for the seal. This gives the cartridge a basic dimensional stability. A support body, which can be cast into the end faces of the paper bellows, can be used on the clean air side to increase the rigidity. The support body can be made of plastic so that the V-cartridge can be metal-free, i.e. fully incinerable.
Another variant of the invention provides additional folds on the filter folds that span the wedge-shaped interior of the filter cartridge. This has the advantage that the filter folds do not extend so far into the wedge-shaped interior of the filter cartridge. It is advantageous to place the clean side of the filter cartridge in the wedge-shaped interior. The filter housing can then be designed in such a way that the filter system is sealed off from the outside or between the raw and clean side by fitting the housing cover. For this purpose, this is provided with corresponding sealing surfaces, which interact with the filter closure on the filter cartridge made of PU foam.
A variant of the invention provides for the two flat filter parts, from which the V-cartridge is made, to be bulbous. This enables a smaller fold division to be achieved. The filter paper is poured into the filter ends in the bulbous form.
These and further features of preferred developments of the invention are evident from the claims and also from the description and the drawings, the individual features being implemented individually or in groups in the form of subcombinations in the embodiment of the invention and in other fields, and can represent advantageous and protectable versions for which protection is claimed here.

Beschreibung der AusführungsbeispieleDescription of the embodiments
The basic structure of a V-shaped filter cartridge can be seen in FIG. A filter web 10 is folded in a W shape and its ends are connected to one another by a clamping rail 11. This creates an annular shape of the filter web. The V-shape of the filter cartridge is generated by pulling apart two filter folds 12 on opposite side surfaces 13 on an upper end face 14 and folding them into a wedge-shaped interior 17 on a lower end face 15. The entire side surface of the filter cartridge is formed by the filter fold 12 and the filter folds 16. More than two filter folds 12, e.g. four filter folds form the wedge-shaped interior 17 of the filter cartridge.
The filter folds 12 drawn into the interior 17 can be seen here. These filter folds are curved in section since the front edges of the filter folds have a twist angle of 90 ° (see also FIG. 1).
Figure 3 shows a section corresponding to Figure 2 through the filter paper. The filter paper is held together in a ring shape by the clamping rail 11. The filter folds 12 each have an additional fold 18. The real one Edge 19 between the filter folds 12 therefore lies in the plane of the side surface 13 of the filter cartridge.
Figure 4 shows a Filteφatrone 20 as it is suitable for installation. The end faces 14, 15 of the filter web 10 are cast in an upper filter end 21 and a lower filter end 22 made of PU foam. Since the filter web 10 is closed in a ring shape, complete sealing of the filter cartridge by the upper and lower filter ends 21, 22 is possible.
The housing is pot-shaped and has a cover 24 which is held on the housing by snap connections 25. If the filter cartridge 20 is inserted into the housing 23, the lower filter end 22 comes to rest on support ribs 26 in the housing base. The upper filter cover 21 is clamped by sealing surfaces 27 after the cover 24 has been put on.
The housing 23 has an inlet 28 on the raw side. A purely outlet 29 is integrated in the cover. The outlet can have an additional support projection 30 which engages in the upper filter end 21 in order to avoid deformation of the filter cartridge due to the pressure difference between the raw and clean side. The housing is preferably made of plastic.
