- the bulb can be water-proofed (as is known) for example by dipping in Saran® a polyvinylidene chloride coating composition. Otherwise it could be water-proofed by, e.g. dipping or spraying it with silicone, neoprene rubber, butyl rubber or hydrophobic polyurethane.
