- the fixing means used are either integral tabs or pins with the resistance, protruding from one of the edges at regular length intervals, or detachable clips that are placed covering the resistance. The tips of the pins or the clips are inserted in the porous insulating base, for the restraint of the resistance.
- the fixing pins give rise to an irregular conductive section along the resistance, which causes temperature differences that increase the fatigue effect of cyclic thermal stresses, especially in non-ductile alloys, such as chrome or nickel.
- EP-612199 describes an electrical resistance like the one above. To limit the average conductive section of the resistance and make it more uniform, the band is punched with cuts in the pins in the form of holes or grooves to remove material. Thus, at the same time the thermal dissipation towards the fixing pins is reduced.
- the solutions with integral pins require a change of matrix for the stamping of the resistance, when a different pass between pins is intended.
- US-4161648 (DE-2551137) describes another flat resistance solution with fixing pins inserted in the insulating base. It increases the conductive length of the resistance in relation to its glogal length, by means of groove cuts alternately from one edge and another of the flat band, thus forming a zig-zagent conductor of smaller conductive section than the width of the band. As a result of grooved cuts, the stiffness of the resistance in all directions and in particular in the vertical direction is reduced. The stiffness of the heating resistance and also the tendency to bend, cause the adverse buckling effect of the insulating base.
- ES-2079293 (P9302122) describes a flat resistance fixing system on the insulating base.
- the resistor has no clamping pins and its bottom edge is housed in a vertical groove in the base, spirally shaped. Resistance clamping against the base is achieved after placement, by inserting inverted "U” shaped clamps regularly spaced over the resistance, which press it against the bottom of the housing groove. As it has no integral fixing pins, all the width and material of the original band is used as a conductive section of the resistance.
- the process of inserting the clips, after the placement of the resistance on the groove of the insulating base is laborious and subject to inaccuracies that produce partial tears of the conductive section and unwanted point bends.

- the fixing pins have a preferred inverted "U" shape, and their flat walls are in contact with the resistance around the bending line, so that in relation to the mass of the pins a moment of force is allowed for the greater insertion, than that admitted by the integral pins of the aforementioned state of the art solution, and thus the housing groove in the insulating base can be dispensed with.

- the resistance 2 is made of thin and flat alloy band, for example of thickness e close to 0.05 mm, and width w between 3 and 9 mm, so it is very sensitive to the mechanical stresses applied during assembly.
- the placement of the pins 3 at regular intervals of length over the resistance 2, allows the use of automatic mounting means for positioning preprogrammed, and then precise bending along its center line 3 .
- the pins 3, as shown in Figure 4, have a preferred inverted "U" shape, and the side walls 3b are in contact with the resistor 2 around the bending line 3c.
