A device for mobile communication (in particular a cell phone or a cell phone) is generally known. It is an endeavor to miniaturize the device to an increasing extent, always paying attention to favorable operability. With a keyboard, however, the device always has a certain minimum size.
The object of the invention is to provide a device for mobile communication, which device allows a very small embodiment with high user acceptance.
This object is achieved according to the features of the independent claim.
A device for mobile communication is specified, which comprises a transmitting and receiving unit for carrying out the mobile communication. Furthermore, the device has a sensor for reading characters and a processor unit for recognizing the read characters and for further processing of the recognized characters.
A further development is that the sensor is a scanner or an OCR reading head. It is also a further development that the device is designed in the form of a pin.
Furthermore, a display is provided as part of an additional development of the device. Control information is preferably shown on the display.
It is an advantage of the invention that the device for mobile communication can be designed as a device which is very small in comparison to commercially available mobile telephones and therefore does not impede a user due to its dimensions. By scanning characters, handwritten telephone numbers and / or user commands for the device for mobile communication can be recognized and then a predetermined action, for example the selection of the recognized telephone number, can be carried out with the recognized characters. This type of input is not a problem for the user, since it is intuitive and quick.
Zeichen umfassen. It is also possible for a manufacturer of the device for mobile communication to deliver a form with characters, the characters being any number, including alphanumeric characters, with the device and to use these characters to program the device or adapt it to the user. Such commands are simply called up by the user running the sensor over the characters to be entered, the characters are read in, recognized by the processor unit and implemented a predetermined action. Preferably, the meaning of the respective character stands for the characters m to be read in for the user in a form that is understandable. In general, the character can of course also comprise several individual symbols or characters.
It is also a further development that a device for mobile communication is also a pen-shaped one 3 input device with a sensor for reading characters. With the additional pen-shaped input device, it is possible to extend the functionality of the intuitive and quick input option to a cell phone of known dimensions.
It is also within the scope of the invention to provide a button which is set up in such a way that the sensor, in particular the OCR reading head, is activated when it is actuated. The button can be operated manually by the user or automatically by pressing the sensor on a surface. The button can also be used to operate a switch, pressing the button turns it on and pressing the button turns it off. The switch can be implemented electronically by flip-flops.
Further developments of the invention also result from the dependent claims.
