Description
ITEM OF CLOTHING WITH POCKET FOR CELLULAR PHONE AND SIMILAR DEVICES
Technical Field
The present invention concerns the field of men's and women's wear and concerns an item of clothing apt to cover the body of a user below the waist, such as skirt and trouser.
Background Art
Trousers, especially for male persons, are provided below the waist with a pair of front side pockets and, sometimes, also with one or more back side pockets. On the contrary, if they are made as women's wear, they are made without pockets or they are provided with at the most one or, sometimes, two back lateral pockets.
Skirts are nearly never provided with pockets or at the most with one or sometimes two front side pockets.
The availability of pockets both in trousers and skirts makes it very useful holding personal objects of different kinds. In particular they are very useful to keep cellular phones which are today of large use.
Using pockets for keeping cellular phones has however some drawbacks.
If the cellular phone is kept in one of the front side pockets, it creates a swelling in the portion where the leg is articulated with respect to the pelvis, which limits the movements of the person and creates an inconvenience when the person is sitting.
If, on the contrary, the cellular phone is held in one of the back side pockets, in addition to being of inconvenience for the person when he or she is sitting, it can also accidentally fall off from the pocket just when the person is going to seat. If the telephone is rather short in particular, it will seat in the deepest part of the pocket and there is the risk that it can be crushed by the weight of the person when he/she seats.
Moreover another drawback is created by the fact that, if the telephone is of very small dimensions, it can place itself transversely in the pocket and thus in a position which makes it very difficult extracting it and hinders its rapid extraction.
With the aim of overcoming such drawbacks and allowing users to keep the cellular phone even though while wearing skirts or trousers without pockets, special cellular phones sleeves or bags have been manufactured which are applied externally to trousers or skirts and hang from the belt or band holding trousers and skirts to the waist.
Those sleeves are not very pleasant aesthetically so that they are not widely spread. Moreover the cellular phone, even though it is kept in the sleeve, remains however exposed and thus subject to possible loss or theft.
It is known that apparatuses for receiving and transmitting radiosignals and particularly handy and cellular phones, emit electromagnetic waves with frequencies comprised between 10 and 2000 MHz.
The effect of such radiations has not yet been verified, however it is sure that they can constitute a hazard for human beings, especially in the more sensitive body parts like chest and pelvis. For this reason holding radio
2
receivers/transmitters and cellular phones in pockets can irradiate harmful radiations in the users' body.
Disclosure of the Invention
The present invention aims to overcome such drawbacks.
Particularly it is one of the objects of the invention to provide an article of clothing apt to cover the body of the person wearing it on the body portion below the waist, like for example skirts or trousers, and provided with one or more pockets especially made to keep a cellular phone.
It is another object of the invention that such pockets hold the telephone in a position apt not to produce any inconvenience to the person when he or she walks or seats.
It is a further object of the invention to provide such pockets with measures apt to hold any cellular phone of commercial type, whichever its dimension.
It is a further object of the invention to provide an item of clothing with a pocket apt to contain the cellular phone to hold cellular phones always in a vertical position in such a way that it can be extracted easily and above all in a rapid manner.
It is not the last object of the invention to provide pockets with shielding against radiations transmitted by portable and cellular phones by other receivers/transmitters, especially in the part facing the user's body.
Said objects of the invention are achieved by the provision of a clothing item connected to the waist of the person who wears it and apt to cover
3
body portion below the waist and characterised in that it is provided with at least one lateral pocket arranged in correspondence of at least one of the hips and in proximity of the waist, said at least one lateral pocket being provided with one tube-shaped lining arranged substantially according to the longitudinal direction of the clothing item.
According to one preferred embodiment, the clothing item can be either trousers or a skirt, both provided with front side pockets and/or back side pockets, the opening of said at least one lateral pocket is comprised between said at least one corresponding front side pocket and said at least one corresponding back side pocket.
The tube-shaped lining of the lateral pocket is trapezoidal with its oblique sides convergent towards the lower part and the longer base arranged in correspondence of the pocket opening. It is provided with a profile that favours inserting and extracting the phone and to keep it in substantially vertical position avoiding that it lays transversally.
Advantageously, being each lateral pocket made laterally on clothing side, the telephone that it keeps do not create any additional inconvenience in the part of the leg articulation and thus does not hinder movements and does not create any inconvenience to the person when he or she is seating.
The depth of the lining can also be advantageously modified by providing in it appropriate transversal or oblique seams which, without changing the profile shape, will only limit its depth and/or volume, adapting it to the shape of the different cellular phones that it can hold.
Appropriately the tube-shaped lining of the lateral pocket comprises at least one portion facing the user's body made of a cloth with shielding properties
4
towards electromagnetic waves.
To this end, the cloth with shielding properties contains metallic fibres appropriately oriented. In order to maximise the shielding effect, the orientations of metallic fibres are mutually reciprocaliy orthogonal.
Brief description of the drawings
The aims and advantages will become more evident by means of the description of a preferred embodiment illustrated only by way of non limitative drawings, wherein:
Fig. 1 shows the item of clothing according to the invention provided with a side pocket apt to keep cellular phones; Figures 2 to 5 show a correspondent number of executive embodiments of the item of clothing according to the invention of fig. 1 ;
Fig. 6 shows a schematic perspective view of a pocket for an item of clothing according to the invention.
Description of the preferred embodiments
With reference to the above figures, the item of clothing according to the invention is a clothing connected to the waist of a person wearing it and is apt to cover the body of a user from the waist downward, such as for example trousers or skirts.
According to an embodiment shown in fig. 1 , the item of clothing according to the invention is constituted by a pair of trousers, generally referenced 1 , whose peculiar characteristic is to be provided with at least one lateral pocket generally referenced 2, arranged in correspondence of at least one
5
of the hips 3 in proximity of the waist 4 and provided with a tube shaped lining 5 extending substantially along the longitudinal direction 6 of trousers 1 .
When the telephone is inserted into the pocket, it is arranged in correspondence of the lateral portion of trousers 1 , where it is of no hindrance and does not cause any inconvenience to the person even he/she walks or seats.
More particularly the tube-shaped lining 5 of the pocket is provided with sides 7 sloping and converging towards the bottom side such as to define a substantially trapezoidal shape with the longer base placed in correspondence of the upper opening or slot 8 on the same pocket. Such trapezoidal shape favours in holding the telephone and maintaining it in a vertical position avoiding that it can place itself transversely thus making it extracting more difficult.
The tube-shaped lining 5 is provided with a depth 9 sufficient to receive any commercial type of cellular phones available on the market.
An alternative embodiment according to the invention is shown in fig. 2 where it can be observed that the trousers, generally referenced 10, are provided with the lateral pocket 1 1 provided with a tube shaped lining 12 with bottom 12'.
The depth 13 of lining 12 is reduced with respect to the previous embodiment described by means of a transversal seam 14 made above the bottom 12' of the lining 12. Such transversal seam 14 can be made in any position such as to adapt the depth 13 of the lining to the length of the telephone which it must hold.
6
Another embodiment is shown in fig. 3 where the trousers according to the invention are described, generally referenced 20, in which each lateral pocket 21 is provided with a lining 22 having a shaped seam 23 made above the bottom 22' of the lining 22, apt to reduce both lining height and width, to adapt the shape to the profile of the phone which it must hold.
Obviously every such seam is made at the moment of the sale of the trousers such as to personalise the depth of each side pocket.
According to another executive embodiment shown in fig. 4 the trousers, globally referenced as 30, are provided with at least one front side pocket 31 and at least one back side pocket 32, which is rather a frequent configuration only in case of man's trousers. In such executive embodiment each side pocket, referenced as 33, is comprised between the front side pocket 31 and the back side pocket 32. According to another executive embodiment shown in fig. 5, the item of clothing according to the invention is made of a skirt, globally referenced as 40.
In the same manner as in the embodiments described above, the skirt 40 is provided with at least one side pocket 41 placed in correspondence of the hips, made in proximity of the waist 42 and provided with a tube shaped lining 43.
Moreover, the skirt can be provided with one or more front or back side pockets, in which case the lateral pocket 41 will be arranged between each corresponding front side and backside pocket.
With reference to Fig. 6, a general view of a cellular phone or similar receiver transmitter pocket is shown, which is applied to trousers or skirt
7
50. The pocket tube-shaped lining, generally referenced 51 , is provided with an internal portion 52 directed towards the user's body and made with cloth having shielding properties against electromagnetic radiations generated by the mentioned apparatuses.
Advantageously such material with shielding property can be constituted by a fabric containing metallic fibres.
Preferably, the shielding material fibres are arranged according to mutually orthogonal directions so as to create a kind of lattice or grid apt to maximise the shielding effect.
According to laboratory texts the cloth loaded with metallic fibres weakens significantly radiation, e.g. for radio transmission it frequencies of about 434 MHz, reduction has been equal to about 5 dB and at frequencies around 915 MHz reduction has been equal to about 15 dB.
Obviously in each of the executive embodiments according to the invention described and shown, each side pocket can be provided with a tube shaped lining with additional seats to adapt it to shapes and dimensions of different kinds of telephones.
The shape and dimension of the side pocket can be of any kind and also different from what has been shown and described. The pockets can also be provided with closing means like for example buttons, zips or hook-and-pile (Velcro) elements.
Moreover each item of clothing can be provided with one or two side pockets, each placed on one of the hips.
8
Obviously other possible embodiments, not cited insofar as they are based on the same idea as described, are to be considered protected by this invention.
