Description

Product made of a porous carrier, which is penetrated by a plastic.
The invention relates to a method for producing a film-like product from a porous carrier material with a homogeneously penetrated plastic, in particular polyolefin.
The introduction of plastic into a porous carrier material is known from DE-OS 16 19 190. The carrier material is preferably leather, but can also be a fabric. The carrier material is stiffened by the penetrated plastic, for example to serve as a shoe stiffening material (such as shoe caps).
Aufgrund der Porosität vom Kunststoff und Trägermaterial hat die Kunststoffbahn eine hohe Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeit, ist aber andererseits unter Baustellenbedingungen verschweißbar.EP 678 619 A1 discloses a plastic web and a method for its production, in which porous agglomerates made from at least one hydrophobic thermoplastic powder are mechanically anchored in and / or fixed to a carrier material. The carrier material is preferably porous and consists of plastic and / glass fibers. Due to the porosity of the plastic and carrier material, the plastic sheet has a high water vapor permeability, but is also weldable under construction site conditions.
The invention has for its object to provide a product that is suitable in the manner of a film, in a simple manner on substrates of all types, for. B. wood, applied, in particular to be glued. The product is said to B. can also be used as wallpaper or as a covering for products of all kinds. The product should be easy to stick to the substrate. If the article to which the product according to the invention is to be applied has sharp edges, it should be possible to bend it by coating with the film according to the invention. The film according to the invention is intended for a human user feel comfortable (so-called "softtouch"). It should have a high level of mechanical stability, in particular high splitting strength, and be easy to process further. In particular, the film according to the invention is intended to serve as a replacement for a conventional PVC film. Furthermore, the film product according to the invention should be as little as possible harmful to the environment during production, processing and possibly disposal.
The method according to the invention for producing such a film-like product provides the following steps:
A plastic, in particular polyolefin, is applied to a porous carrier, and
durch Wärmeeinwirkung dringt der Kunststoff bzw. das Polyolefin homogen in den porösen Träger.the plastic or polyolefin penetrates homogeneously into the porous carrier due to the action of heat.
The method described above leads to the simplest type of film production according to the invention. It has a high splitting resistance and feels pleasant to a human user; the film has a soft, almost textile-like surface.
Polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene can be used in particular as the polyolefin. Such polyolefins become slightly milky after curing. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is therefore provided that a sublimable emulsion paint is applied to the porous support before the polyolefin is applied. If the polyolefin is then applied to the support printed with ink, the polyolefin penetrates the porous support under the action of heat and, at the same time or later, the color diffuses through the action of heat in the polyolefin. The result is a film in which the porous support serves as a "framework" in which the plastic, for. B. polyolefin, has penetrated homogeneously, thus filling the porous gaps. Such a film can be easily placed on a substrate, e.g. B. wood, stick on, as the porous Carrier (unlike polyolefins) is easy to glue. A paper, in particular 80 g of paper, is particularly suitable as the porous carrier.
After the product has been produced in the manner described above, the polyolefin can be post-crosslinked without the product losing the advantageous properties described above.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, following the penetration of the plastic or polyolefin into the porous support, a lacquer layer is applied to at least one side, preferably a lacquer layer curable by electron radiation (ESH lacquer). The curing of the lacquer layer improves the overall stability and adhesion of the system components.
Textile-like materials can also be considered as the porous carrier.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
The single figure schematically shows a porous carrier 10, an emulsion paint 12 applied thereon and a polyolefin film 14 applied thereon in a state during the manufacturing process of the product.
In the exemplary embodiment, the porous carrier 10 is paper (80 g). The paper is porous and permeable to liquids. It is printed with a sublimable emulsion paint. The color can be homogeneous or also represent a graphic motif, that is, it can include a decoration using different colors. The paper as porous carrier 10 can be printed with the dye motif in a conventional manner. The printed paper is clamped onto a paper coating machine which is conventional as such, and a polyolefin is applied as the coating material. For this purpose, heated cylinders can be used in conventional coating machines, e.g. B. at temperatures of 200 ° C to 260 ° C. In this regard, it is an extrusion technique when the polyolefin is applied to the printed paper.
Good results were achieved by applying 50 g to 500 g polyolefin per square meter, the results were optimal at about 250 g / square meter. Due to the heat, the polyolefin seeps through the paper and penetrates it homogeneously. At the same time, due to the influence of heat, the disperse dyes diffuse through the polyolefin in all directions. Temperatures of 220 ° C to 280 ° C, in particular about 260 ° C, are used for this.
After cooling, a soft, easily processable film product is created with high stability and in particular splitting resistance. Possibly. post-crosslinking of the polyolefin can be carried out. The colored motif created when printing on the paper is not lost in the process described above, i. H. the foil product has a colored decoration corresponding to the printed paper.
A preferred development of the film product produced as described above is achieved in that a lacquer layer is applied to one or both sides. An electron-curable lacquer (ESH lacquer) is preferably used and cured. This significantly improves the mechanical properties and also the processability of the film product.
