PROTECTION DEVICE AGAINST ALIENATION OFFICE EQUIPMENT
Technical Field
The present invention relates to protection device against alienation office equipment, mainly computers and its component parts Background Art Office equipment like computers, printers, copy machines, communication equipment are placed in rooms as freely laid on the floor or on the desk This equipment is usually not protected against alienation or taking away by its own design, it is usually protected only by protection of the office area In spite of the fact, that office areas are protected using miscellaneous means, securing and alarm equipment of the office area are connected to security guard services or police, the offender often alienates above mentioned office equipment The offender is able to escape with alienated equipment even before arrival of the police or security guard, because that equipment is easily removed and has considerable value
Besides the alienation of equipment there is also alienation and loss of data, that are usually stored in office equipment, mainly in computer data media Injured owner bears the risk of misuse of those data
There are known computer safes intended to protect computers, where whole computer is placed inside of that safe This safe is equipped with cooling or air system, electric power and network connection Computers safes are due its own sophistication and weight very expansive, so using those safes is not very flexible solution for development of company and increased amount of new computers In case of computer network, where individual computers are located in different rooms, multiple use of computer safes is uneconomic and not esthetic
Computer safes do not solve problem of alienation of office equipment that are operated using controls placed directly on the body of the appliance e g computer printers, fax machines or copy machines, because putting this equipment inside of safe would not enable proper maintenance and operation Regular disconnecting from communication networks or power and putting inside of safes after the work is very laborious or (in case of big weight or dimensions - e g copy machines) unreal
Also regularly storing of some part of the equipment, e g data storing machine, is laborious and does not solve problem of alienation of other parts of office equipment Disclosure of the patent
The above mentioned lacks are considerably solved by protection device against alienation office equipment according to this invention, which is based on at least one base element and at least one attachable element Base element is shaped to be fixed mainly to solid part of the building e g floor or wall and attachable element is shaped to be fixed to body of the protected office equipment Shapes and dimensions of base and attachable element are adapted to join each other This joint is secured by lock that is attached to base element or attachable element
For easier joining of base element and attachable element, this protection device contains firm guiding element, that is adapted to be fixed to solid part of the building, and movable guiding element, that is fixed and/or adapted to be fixed to the cover of the protected office equipment Those guiding elements enable easier navigation of base element and attachable element to the position suitable for locking the device
Security level of this protecting device against alienation office equipment improves if this protecting device includes data shell, that is connected with attachable element and to which a equipment data medium will be inserted and stored indefinitely, while access to equipment data medium is possible only if base element and attachable element are disjoined It is advantageous, if sides of the protecting shell have isolation against fire and electomagnetic field It is also advantageous, if hanger of the data medium is fitted flexibly on data protecting shell, so influence of vibration, that is transferred from building construction to data medium when base element and attachable element are joined, will be reduced
Security level of this protecting device against alienation office equipment improves if the cover of this protecting device is fitted to the attachable element in that manner, that if the device is locked, attachable element prevent cover to be taken off from office equipment, and the cover is made of material resistant to mechanical damage In the most advantageous embodiment the cover of the protecting device consists of usual outer cover or of construction of the office equipment In the locked position the cover protects against dismantling of the equipment and alienation of its components, since equipment as whole is impossible to alienate
Securing of the office equipment against alienation using protection device according to this invertion is being realised in that manner, that base element and attachable element are joined together with movement in the guiding elements Office equipment is this way firmly joined to the construction of the building, mainly to floor of the room Components joining together base element and construction of the building are accesible only in unlocked position Mechanical or electrical lock prevents against disallowed disjoining and thus against alienation
Data medium is removed from its usual location in the protected equipment and inserted into the protecting data shell, that protects also in case of violent damage of the outer cover of the office equipment This protection is ensured with own embodiment of the protecting data shell and with joining to the construction of the building in locked position Hanger of the data medium is cushioned and thus tramsmission of the oscillation from construction of the building is reduced
Protecting device according to this invertion allows to protect office equipment against alienation without any visible change of design Important parts of office equipment, data media are directly attached to attachable element and thus protected against removal Violent removal of the office equipment from attachable element would damage the equipment and reduce its value, and cause its unmarketabihty on black market
Protection device according to this invertion prevent unwanted access into the inside of office equipment, its moving during working hours by persons allowed to be in the room, e.g. employees or customers.
In case of need there is possibility of using more base elements for one office equipment, that are located on different places.
Protection device according to this invertion is more economic and smaller then computer safes, and in case of need is more simply removable. Description of the drawings
The invention is better explained with drawings, where on Fig. 1 is represented protection device against alienation office equipment in unlocked position with suggested locking movement and on Fig. 2 is protection device in locked position. Examples od embodiment
Protection device against alienation office equipment according to fig. 1 comprises of one base element I, adapted to be attached to solid part of the building 3, namely screwed on the floor of the room and with one attachable element 2, that is adapted to be attached to office equipment 4, namely screwed on the lower side of the office equipment 4, while attachable element 2 is equipped with mechanical lock 5. Device comprises also one firm guiding element 6, adapted to be attached to solid part of the building 3, namely screwed on the floor of the room and with movable guiding element 7, that is joined with attachable element 2, and this movable driving element 7 is adapted to be attached to outer lower side of the office equipment 4, namely with screws.
Closed data protecting shell 8 is joined to attachable element so that opening of the shelf is possible only from lower side of the office equipment 4 after unlocking of the base element \ and attachable element 2. Inside of the protecting shell 8 is flexibly fitted hanger of data media 10. Cement plates are adhered on sides of the protecting shelf.
Cover 9, where is stored office equipment 4, is also cover of the office equipment 4, and this cover 9 is screwed to attachable element 2. Cover 9 is made of hardened steel. The device is shown in locked position in fig. 2, where base element I is joined to attachable element 2, and mechanical lock 5, which is mounted on attachable element 2, prevents against disjunction of both elements.
Movable guiding element 7 is inserted in firm guiding element 6. The applicability of the invention
The applicability of the invention is evident. According to that invention, it is possible to produce protection device against alienation office equipment for wide variety of office equipment, mainly computers.
