Definitions
- the invention relates to an accessory for a sunshade of a motor-vehicle.
- the invention concerns a sleeve-like body to be mounted on a sunshade of a motor- vehicle to adapt its longitudinal extension to the length of the side door window.
- Frames of motor-vehicles usually include, at least for the driver and the passenger situated beside, hinged panel sunshades situated in the region of the dashboard.
- this panel is rotatably mounted onto a rod; the inner end of this rod is supported by the frame and can rotate.
- two working configurations can usually be set for the sunshade.
- the rod In a first working configuration, the rod is set crosswise to the motor-vehicle movement direction, while in a second working configuration the rod is aside of the fore door and parallel to the motor-vehicle movement direction.
- the object of the present invention is to propose an accessory, which can be joined to the sunshade of a motor-vehicle, so as to increase the reach of the sunshade in stepless way.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a universal accessory, which can be applied to any type of the sunshade already installed.
- a further object of the invention is to propose an accessory that fulfills the previous objects and does not cover the possible mirror mounted on the relative sunshade .
- Yet a further object of the invention is to propose an accessory which fulfills the above mentioned objects and which can also be used as a carrier for a perfumed substance to be released in the cab of the motor-vehicle.
- an accessory for a panel-like sunshade of a motor-vehicle said sunshade having an end rotatably mounted onto a rod and a free end, with an inner end of the rod rotatably fastened to a frame of the motor-vehicle in the region of a dashboard of the vehicle, the accessory including a sleeve-like body coupled telescopically with the sunshade, to define a sleeve-like body-sunshade assembly having length variable in stepless way in relation to the length of a portion of the sleeve-like body protruding from the outer end of the sunshade.
- the sleeve-like body is obtained by folding a rectangular paper or cardboard sheet and by removably attaching an adhesive band, provided near a first edge of this sheet, to a transversal portion of said sheet close to a second edge parallel to the first edge, the distance of the first edge, already attached, from said second edge defining a desired section for said sleeve-like body.
- Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the accessory joined to the left side sunshade of a motor-vehicle; - Figure 3 shows a pe r spective view of the two working configurations of a sunshade with the subject accessory joined thereto.
- reference numeral 1 indicates a panel-like sunshade for motor-vehicle.
- the sunshade 1 is rotatably fastened to a rod 2.
- An inner end 2a of the rod 2 is rotatably fastened to a frame of the motor-vehicle so as to be located in the region of a dashboard 3 also associated to the frame of the motor- vehicle .
- the rod-sunshade assembly can assumes two characteristic configurations. In a first configuration indicated by reference H, it is oriented crosswise to the movement direction of the motor-vehicle, while in a second configuration K, the rod-sunshade assembly is turned to face the side of the front door 4, i.e. it is parallel to the motor-vehicle movement direction.
- Numeral 5 indicates a rectangular sheet of any kind of material (e.g. paper, cardboard, natural or synthetic resin, etc.) .
- a first edge 5a has applied thereonto a band 16 of an adhesive material.
- a bi-adhesive band or a band with glue, or velcro or other similar material can be used in place of the band 16 of adhesive material.
- a sleeve-like body 6 By folding the sheet 5, a sleeve-like body 6 is obtained which has a cross-section that fits the sunshade 1.
- the sleeve-like body can be telescopically coupled to the sunshade 1. It is to be pointed out that the sleeve-like body 6 is obtained by removable attaching the band 16 to a transversal portion of the sheet located close to a second edge 5b, parallel to the above mentioned first edge 5a.
- the actual distance of the band 16, when attached, from the second edge 5b defines a desired section for the sleeve-like body 6.
- the proposed solution i.e. the sleeve-like body 6 obtained from a sheet 5
- the proposed solution is universal, as it is possible to obtain, from one band 5 of the predetermined width L, a sleeve-like body with a cross-section, which can be associated with any type of sunshade.
- the width L of the body 6 is advantageously shorter than the length of the sunshade ( Figure 2) .
- the telescopic coupling between the body 6 and sunshade allows to define a sleeve-like body-sunshade assembly of variable length. Due to this feature, this assembly can be used for a wide range of known motor-vehicle models .
- a universal sleeve-like body 6 which can be used for sunshades of any cross-section, as it is made from a single sheet 5 provided with an adhesive band;
- a universal sleeve-lj e body-sunshade assembly is obtame ⁇ , which can be used for a wide range of front doors, due to the telescopic coupling between the telescopic body 6 and sunshade 1.
- some sunshades e.g. the one for the passenger side, are provided with a mirror 8 (see Figure 2) .
- the mirror 8 can be still used by removing a part 7, defined by e.g. pre-established breaking lines 7a, and leaving a corresponding window in the sheet 5.
- the sheet o is advantageously made of two portions X and Y, transparent and opaque, respectively.
- the transparent portion X allows to use the mirror 8.
- the sheet 5 can be distributed advantageously as a gadget, and in this case its surface can show advertisement messages.
- the proposed accessory can also be used as a carrier for a perfumed substance which is to be released slowly in the cab of the motor-vehicle.
- the carrier can be produced in several different ways. According to a first way, the sleeve-like body is impregnated, all of it or only a part of it, with the perfuming substance. According to a second way, the perfuming substance is applied to the sleeve-like body, or only a part thereof, by spreading, waxing, spraying or any other similar technique. Either only one face, or both faces of the sleeve-like body may be subjected to application of the perfuming substance.
- the sleeve-like body When the perfuming substance is consumed, the sleeve-like body can be replaced with a new one.
- An advantageous embodiment of the accessory includes, in alternative, carrier means for the perfuming substance, these means being attached to the sleeve-like body in unmovable or removable way, ir accordance with well known techniques available to those skilled in the art.
- the carrier means may include a film, a cardboard strip or the like.
- the film or cardboard strip when the perfuming substance is consumed, the film or cardboard strip can be removed from the sleeve-like body and a fresh one can be attached thereto.
- the whole film-body or strip-body assembly can be also replaced.
- a pocket is attached to the sleeve-like body, e.g. by means of an adhesive substance, and an element which release a perfuming fragrance may be introduced into the pocket.
- the pocket can be also attached to the sleeve-like body by means of stitching, riveting, stapling, welding, or any other similar method.
- the pocket when tie perfuming substance is consumed, the pocket may be replaced with a new one containing a fresh perfume carrier, or in alternative only the perfuming element can be replaced with a fresh one .
- a small writing board can be made. Messages can be written on this writing board, which can be later on erased.
- the writing board, or writing area can be obtained by a specific treating of a pre-determmed area of the sleeve-like body .
- Also other useful devices such as a small calculator, an electronic clock, a video digital or analogic display, can be fastened to either side one or both sides of the sleeve-like body.
- Power supply to these small devices can be provided by means of related batteries or by means of the battery of the motor-vehicle
