  • a layer of batt fibers 54 are disposed contiguously relative to the permeability control layer 50 such that the permeability control layer 50 is disposed between the layer of batt fibers 54 and the base fabric 48 for inhibiting rewetting of the web W downstream relative to the extended nip 18 and for predictably assisting the web W to follow the press felt 24 rather than the pick-up felt 22 downstream relative to the extended nip 18.

Abstract

Cet appareil à presse à pince allongée (10) est destiné à exprimer l'eau présente dans un voile (W) formé. L'appareil comporte un sabot de presse de forme allongée (14) et un contre-rouleau ventilé (16) coopérant avec celui-ci, définissant ainsi une pince allongée (18) au travers de laquelle passera le voile. Un blanchet de support (20) coopère de façon coulissante avec le sabot (14) et traverse la pince allongée, étant placé entre le voile (W) et le sabot (14). Un feutre de transfert (22) passe à travers la pince allongée pour transporter le voile vers cette pince et lui faire traverser celle-ci. Un feutre de presse (24) passe à travers la pince allongée de sorte que le voile (W) vient se placer entre le feutre de presse (24) et le feutre de transfert (22) durant son passage à travers la pince allongée. La perméabilité à l'eau du feutre de presse (24) est inférieure à celle du feutre de transfert (22) de sorte que le voile (W) est davantage susceptible de suivre le feutre de presse (24) que le feutre de transfert (22) lorsque celui-ci s'écarte du feutre de presse vers l'aval par rapport à la pince allongée, l'agencement étant tel qu'un aspect 'double face' du voile (W) foulé est évité, ce qui revient à dire que l'on obtient un voile dont les deux faces ont des caractéristiques de surface identiques.
