Abstract

This invention relates to a roof tile with a first (1) and a second side (2), which roof tile comprises means for engaging a further roof tile, upon the at least partially overlapping positioning of the roof tiles, whereby said means comprise a first jaw (3) and an insert member (4) which are applied in line, whereby the first jaw is located on the first side and forms a protrusion, and the insert member is located on the second side, whereby the first jaw engages the insert member, upon the overlapping positioning of the roof tiles. The insert member may have the shape of a jaw, or be formed by a recess which is applied in the first transversal rim.

Claims

1. A roof tile with a first and a second side, said roof tile comprising means for engaging a further roof tile upon the at least partially overlapping positioning of the roof tiles, said means comprising a first jaw and an insert member which are applied in line, whereby the first jaw is located on the first side of said roof tile and forms a protrusion, and the insert member is located on the second side, and the first jaw engages the insert member upon the overlapping positioning of the roof tiles, characterised in that the insert member is formed by a recess in said roof tile.

2. A roof tile as claimed in claim 1 , characterised in that said roof tile comprises a first transversal rim, and the insert member is formed by a recess in said transversal rim.

3. A roof tile as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that said first side of said roof tile comprises in transversal direction a plurality of jaws, and said second side of said roof tile comprises in transversal direction a plurality of recesses.

4. A roof tile as claimed in any one of claims 1 to

3, characterised in that the roof tile is provided in transversal direction with a first row of regularly spaced insert members and a second row of regularly spaced jaws.

5. A roof tile as claimed in any one of claims 1 to

4, characterised in that said roof tile is corrugated.

6. A roof tile as claimed in any one of claims 1 to

5, characterised in that said second side of said roof tile corresponds to the bottom side of the roof tile, and said bottom side comprises an additional protrusion for attaching the roof tile to a tile lath.
