Abstract

L'invention concerne une prothèse creuse implantable qui consiste en une structure de base en trois dimensions. Cette structure de base possède une enveloppe faite d'un matériau orienté comme, par exemple, du polytétrafluoréthylène (PTFE), des copolymères de tétrafluoroéthylène (TFE) comportant un hexafluoropropylène ou, encore, un tétrafluoroéthylène comportant un éther de perfluorovinylpropyle, le contenu en comonomère n'excédant pas 2 %. La structure du matériau orienté se caractérise par la présence de deux matrices liées et qui s'interpénètrent. Ces dernières consistent plus précisément en une matrice de polymère se présentant sous forme de noeuds reliés par des fibrilles, ainsi qu'en une matrice comportant un espace vide et dont les éléments sont reliés en un réseau tridimensionnel. Le nombre de noeuds, de fibrilles et d'éléments de l'espace vide peut varier dans une unité de volume donnée. L'épaisseur de l'enveloppe est comprise entre 0,005 et 2,5 mm.
