Abstract

Le cathéter marqué aux ultrasons pour l'électrothérapie de la présente invention comprend un transducteur piézo-électrique (21) monté sur un cathéter et raccordé électriquement, à son extrémité proximale, à des conducteurs longitudinaux. Les électrodes dudit transducteur piézo-électrique ont l'épaisseur et la conductivité requises pour l'énergie d'ablation. L'électrode externe (22) est soit en contact direct avec le tissu, soit (dans les systèmes HF), recouverte d'une couche électriquement isolante qui n'empêche pas la transmission d'ondes haute fréquence pour l'électrochirurgie. Le même conducteur à l'intérieur du cathéter sert à la fois de guide ultrasonore et de transporteur d'énergie. Un cathéter marqué aux ultrasons pour l'électrothérapie améliore le guidage dans des interventions électrochirurgicales, du fait que le transducteur de marquage aux ultrasons et l'élément d'électrothérapie occupent une position identique. La présente invention constitue une simplification essentielle qui permet donc de réduire les coûts de fabrication du cathéter marqué aux ultrasons pour l'électrothérapie, puisqu'un seul élément est utilisé à la fois pour réaliser le traitement et comme sonde-guide.
