Abstract

Cette invention concerne un dispositif qui permet de transporter une masse fibreuse humide, ainsi que de chauffer et/ou de mélanger ladite masse à un réactif chimique liquide ou gazeux. Ce dispositif peut être utilisé dans l'industrie de la fabrication de papier cellulosique. Ce dispositif comprend un corps vertical qui est équipé d'une cuve de réception ainsi que d'une vis sans fin. Cette vis sans fin est coaxiale au corps et comprend deux zones, à savoir une zone de chargement de la masse fibreuse humide se présentant sous forme d'un cône tronqué, et une zone de compactage de la masse fibreuse humide. Cette dernière zone, qui entre en butée contre la spire la plus petite de la zone de chargement, possède des spires dont le diamètre correspond à celui de ladite spire la plus petite. Les diamètres de la plus grande spire et de la plus petite spire de la zone de chargement sont définis par la relation d2max ≤ d2min (c1/c2) où d max représente le diamètre de la plus grande spire de la vis sans fin, d min représente le diamètre de la plus petite spire de la vis sans fin, c1 représente le volume spécifique de la masse fibreuse à l'entrée de la zone de chargement de la vis sans fin, et c2 représente le volume spécifique de la masse fibreuse à la sortie de la zone de compactage de la vis sans fin. Le corps de ce dispositif comprend également un chambre de mélange qui est coaxiale à l'arbre de la vis sans fin et qui est située à quelque distance de la dernière spire de cette dernière, ceci de manière à ce que le disperseur se trouve à l'intérieur de ladite chambre de mélange au niveau de son entrée. La chambre de mélange est équipée d'une conduite d'évacuation de la masse fibreuse traitée, ainsi que d'un système d'alimentation en agent de transport et, le cas échéant, d'un système d'alimentation en vapeur surchauffée et/ou d'un système d'alimentation en réactif chimique. Ce dispositif permet d'effectuer un mélange efficace avec le réactif chimique, et d'assurer simultanément le transport et un chauffage uniforme de la masse fibreuse humide selon une concentration élevée allant de 16 à 90 % en poids. Ce système permet de réduire la surface nécessaire à la production ainsi que la consommation d'énergie.
