Abstract

Bracing rings for substantially enhancing the rigidity of spoke wheels while causing only a negligible increase in the weight thereof. X-shaped cavities in the inner surfaces of both portions of the rings coupled via fasteners hold in place the spoke intersections in a circular structure. The inner ring surfaces are adjusted according to the wheel spoke angle.

ANNEAUX DE CONTREVENTEMENT (BRACING RING)BRACING RING
Nom de l'inventionName of invention
Nous nommons notre innovation « anneaux de contreventement » ou « bracmg πng » en anglaisWe name our innovation “bracing rings” or “bracmg πng” in English
But généralGeneral purpose
De plus chaαue anneau est constitué de deux Darties l'une intérieure et l'autre extérieure qui s'emboîtent l'une dans l'autre de chaque côté des broches (Fig 4 2 et 4 3) Une ouverture verticale dans la partie intéπeure de l'anneau (Fig 2 5) permet son installation à l'intéπeur de la couronne de broches de la roue Pour équiper une roue, |l faut donc 4 pièces en anneau, deux à deux Descnption de l'mténeurIn addition, each ring consists of two Darties, one inside and the other outside which fit into each other on each side of the pins (Fig 4 2 and 4 3) A vertical opening in the inner part of the ring (Fig 2 5) allows its installation inside the crown of spindles of the wheel To equip a wheel, | l therefore need 4 ring pieces, two by two Description of the designer
The dimensions of the grooves depend on the diameter of the pins (Fig 1 1) Their number depends the number of spindles of a wheel Their regular distribution helps to keep the equal distance between the spokes thus helping to prevent the wheel from veiling The cavities are positioned at the same angle as the spokes (Fig 3 0 and Fig 4 0) and adapt to each type of crossing (left or right) of wheel spokes according to the models marketed, 2x, 3x 4x summer (2x crossings for example mean that one spoke meets two others) A version of our ring modified to accommodate radial spoke competition wheels (without crossing)
FixationsFasteners
Les deux parties d'anneau sont liées l'une sur I autre par des vis ou tout autre moyen de fixation cadrant les cavités (Fig 4 6) L'ensemble comprime les rayons croisés les empêchant de glisser l'une sur l'autre tout en les maintient à égale distance dans une structure circulaireThe two ring parts are linked to each other by screws or any other fixing means framing the cavities (Fig 4 6) The whole compresses the crossed spokes preventing them from sliding one over the other while keeping them at equal distance in a circular structure
L'angle que forment les deux parties d'anneauThe angle formed by the two ring parts
Le haut de l'anneau (périphérie) (Fig 3 7) est aminci afin de minimiser le poids et améliorer l'aérodynamisme de l'ensemble La largeur de i anneau est délimitée par un grand et un petit diamètre (Fig 2 3 et 24) Le grand diamètre de la partie intérieure est plus mince d épaisseur tandis que le petit diamètre est plus épais, d'autre part, le grand diamètre de la partie extérieure est épais tandis que le petit diamètre est plus mince Dimensions et matièreThe top of the ring (periphery) (Fig.3 7) is tapered to minimize the weight and improve the aerodynamics of the whole i The ring width is defined by a large and a small diameter (Figure 2 3 and 24 ) The large diameter of the inner part is thinner in thickness while the small diameter is thicker, on the other hand, the large diameter of the outer part is thick while the small diameter is thinner Dimensions and material
Les dimensions des anneaux peuvent varier selon la rigidité désirée (anneaux πgides ou semi-rigides) et la résistance du matériel utilisé pour la fabricationThe dimensions of the rings can vary according to the desired rigidity (πgide or semi-rigid rings) and the resistance of the material used for manufacturing
Comme par exemple l'aluminium 133 mm petit diamètreLike for example 133 mm small diameter aluminum
170 mm grand diamètre le plastique 128 5 mm petit diamètre170 mm large diameter plastic 128 5 mm small diameter
174 5 mm grand diamètre174 5 mm large diameter
La matière choisie a la fabrication de l'anneau est conditionnelle à son poids pour un effet négligeable sur l'ensemble de la roue et par suite du véhicule The material chosen for the manufacture of the ring is conditional on its weight for a negligible effect on the whole of the wheel and consequently of the vehicle
