Abstract

Cette invention concerne une composition de combustible pour réacteurs à neutrons rapides, laquelle composition comprend un oxyde d'une matière fissile, de l'oxyde de magnésium et du fer α. Cette composition a ceci de particulier que son contenu en fer α ne dépasse pas 75 %, tandis que son contenu en oxyde de magnésium est au moins égal à 10 %. Cette invention concerne également un procédé de production de cette composition de combustible pour réacteurs à neutrons rapides, lequel procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: préparer des solutions de matières fissiles; effectuer une précipitation à l'aide d'ammoniac; effectuer un traitement thermique de la poudre jusqu'à ce que l'on obtienne des oxydes de matières fissiles; presser ces derniers; et enfin, cuire les pastilles obtenues. Ce procédé se caractérise par le fait que l'on ajoute des solutions de magnésium et de fer lors de l'étape de préparation des solutions, et que l'on réduit le fer jusqu'à l'état métallique.
