Abstract

Selon l'état antérieur de la technique concernant des systèmes de communication mobiles, un signal vocal est traité et converti d'un format à un autre et ce, en plusieurs points du système. Au nombre de ces conversions figurent l'annulation d'écho (EC), le transcodage (TC), et le transfert doux (SH) ainsi que la combinaison de diversité (DC). Ces dispositions aux fins du traitement de signal et de sa conversion d'un format à un autre en différents points du système, supposent, bien souvent, un traitement analogique. Cela soulève un sérieux problème en ce sens que la répétition du traitement analogique, en plusieurs points différents du système, ajoute à la complexité de celui-ci, fait s'élever les coûts et nuit à la fiabilité du système. Le fait d'exécuter séparément les étapes de traitement, s'il est le seul à permettre d'utiliser les résultats de chaque étape précédente, ne permet cependant pas d'utiliser avantageusement des résultats intermédiaires. Au titre de cette invention, on exécute, par contre, le plus d'étapes possibles de traitement d'un système de communication mobile au sein d'un élément intégré de réseau ((ISP - traitement intégré de la parole) pouvant lui-même constituer une unité séparée. Cette unité ISP peut également se situer, physiquement, dans un centre de communication radiomobile (MSC). Le traitement intégré a pour avantage d'offrir une structure simplifiée dans la mesure où il est possible d'exécuter toutes les étapes de traitement à l'aide de la même unité de traitement de signal (DSP). L'intégration réduit les coûts et renforce la fiabilité du système. Il est également possible de placer en parallèle les éléments intégrés de réseau (ISP) selon cette invention, soit en un même point du système, soit comme partie intégrante d'unités de contrôle de station de base (BSC).
