Abstract
Verfahren zum Bearbeiten von Werkstücken (10) mit Laserstrahlung (11) unter Schutzgas, die eine Verdampfung von Werkstoff bewirkt, bei dem außer der Laserstrahlung (11) ein Lichtbogen in den werkstücknahen Prozeßbereich (12) geführt wird, dessen Zündung von einer Steuereinrichtung (13) gesteuert wird. Um ein berührungsloses Zündverfahren zu schaffen, das also keine zusätzlichen Bewegungen einzelner NC-Achsen vermeidet und das genaue Synchronisationsmöglichkeiten der Lichtbogenzündung, der Laserstrahlwirkung und der Werkstückbewegungen aufweist, wobei im Falle des Einsatzes von Maschinensteuerungen schädliche Rückkopplungen in letztere vermieden werden, wird das Verfahren so ausgeführt, daß vor dem Beginn des Bearbeitens im Prozeßbereich (12) ein laserinduziertes Plasma (14) erzeugt wird, das nach der Zündung des Lichtbogens mit der Steuereinrichtung (13) zum Erlöschen gebracht wird.
