Abstract

The proposed method and device for carrying out blasting operations can be used to set off descent devices containing explosive and subjected to pressures of up to 80 Mpa and a temperature of 150 °C, at intervals of between 0.5 and 144 hours. The device comprises a delayed-action detonator with a firing pin, and a pressure sensor which includes a replaceable membrane with an adjusting device for setting the device to the pressure at the firing site. The piercing action firing pin in the delayed action detonator actuates the capsule detonator which in turn actuates the pyrotechnic composition in the laser which once excited produces a light pulse of sufficient energy to set off a group of charges mounted in a chain pattern on a single monofibre. The quantity of energy received by the n-th charge is calculated from the formula En = E1 . Kn-1, where E¿n? is the energy reaching the n-th charge, E1 is the laser output energy, K is the reflection coefficient of the charge composition, and n is the serial number of the charge counted from the radiation source. The proposed technical solution ensures safety and a high level of reliability when carrying out blasting operations during mining operations.
