Abstract

The invention relates to the processing of the grass cuttings produced when mowing lawns, the method proposed calling for the grass to be first dried and then shredded. The drying stage can be carried out in a microwave or circulating-air oven. The product thus obtained can then be compressed into solid pellets. The method makes it possible to add a fertilizer and/or growth promoter to the grass cuttings, and to spread the product obtained after processing on the lawn again after mowing.

Für die meisten Heimgartenbesitzer, aber auch für manche ge¬ werblichen Betriebe, stellt das im Fangkorb des Rasenmähers anfallende Schnittgut ein Problem dar, weil oft nicht der Raum zur Kompostierung des wiederholt anfallenden Schnitt- gutes vorhanden ist und zudem häufig eine unerwünschte Ge- ruchsbelästigung auftritt. Diese Nachteile können, wie in der Landwirtschaft üblich, dadurch vermieden werden, daß das Schnittgut auf der Rasenfläche getrocknet und das Heu weiter¬ verarbeitet wird. Dieses Verfahren erweist sich für den Gar¬ tenbesitzer im allgemeinen als unzumutbar, insbesondere auch deshalb, weil ihm die Gartengeräte-Hersteller Rasenmäher zur Verfügung stellen, die das mühsame Einsammeln des Schnittgutes überflüssig machen, so daß das Schnittgut bequem an einer be¬ stimmten Stelle zur Kompostierung abgelegt werden kann. Zur Beschleunigung der Kompostierung sind im Handel Mittel erhält- lieh, die die durch den Mikroorganismus bewirkte Kompostie¬ rung beschleunigen. Dabei wird das Schnittgut, das durch ein von elektrischen Heizleitern gebildete Gitter an den Trennstellen mit dem Heiz¬ leiter verbrannt und so sein Gewicht reduziert. Die durch Ver- brennung an den Trennstellen zerkleinerten Teile werden in einem Behälter gesammelt. Hierdurch werden zwar Volumen und Gewicht des Schnittmähguts vermindert, jedoch auf Kosten eines großen Energieaufwandes und unter Geruchsbelästigung infolge der Verbrennung.This type of disposal is extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive. Die Entwässerung erfolgt dabei nach der Zerkleinerung durch einen Preßvorgang mittels einer Preßschnecke. Das so behandelte Mähgut wird seit¬ lich auf dem Rasen abgelegt. Diese Vorrichtung ist außerordent¬ lich schwer und aufwendig, wobei für die Zerkleinerungs- und Entsaftungseinrichtung ein eigener Antriebsmotor vorzusehen ist. Gelöst wird die gestellte Aufgabe durch die im Kennzeichnungs- teil des Patentanspruchs 1 angegebenen Merkmale. Wie aus Fig. 1 ersichtlich, wird das Schnittgut in einen Ein¬ laß, beispielsweise einen Einlaßtrichter, gefüllt und einer Entwässerung unterworfen. Danach wird das getrocknete Produkt geschreddert, und während des Schreddervorganges oder danach wird Dünger oder ein Wachstumsmittel zugesetzt, worauf eine Vermischung stattfindet. Danach kann das so aufbereitete Gut auf die Rasenfläche ausgetragen oder zur späteren Verwendung gelagert werden. Fig. 2 zeigt schematisch eine übliche Schreddervorrichtung mit einem Einlauftrichter 10, dem ein als Tunnelofen ausgebil¬ deter Durchlauf-Mikrowellenofen 12 nachgeschaltet ist. Das in diesem Ofen getrocknete Gut wird durch die Schredderwerkzeuge im darunterliegenden Teil 14 zerkleinert und kann dann mit Dünger versetzt oder auch in der anfallenden Form gelagert oder verpreßt werden.
