Abstract

The invention concerns a segment (18), in particular a stringer segment for a support system and a method of producing such a segment, in particular a stringer for stairs. The segment has a base part (1) comprising a lower end face and an upper part (3) which is opposite the base part (1) and comprises an upper end face, the upper and lower end faces running substantially parallel with each other. The segment further has two side parts which each of which comprises a lateral face and connects the upper part to the base part (1). At least one lateral face is chamfered relative to the lower end face and a fastening device (9) is formed on the base part (1) and/or the upper part for connecting a tread element (15, 16), a landing element, a top, a base and/or another segment (18), the fastening device (9) being such that the chamfered lateral face is substantially parallel to a corresponding lateral face of an adjoining segment (18).
