All the chambers 202 are closed in a downward region by a rubber tread 203.

  • the present invention has achieved the intended aim and objects; in particular, it should be noted that the composite mid-sole according to the invention, in its various embodiments, by virtue of the foamed filling material or of the fluid, has a very light weight without sacrificing high resilience in view of its cellular structure. Furthermore, the materials and the structure of the mid-sole according to the invention ensure that said mid- sole has substantially no permanent deformation and also substantially no sensitivity to hydrolysis.
