Abstract
A wallet size card book (10) which has been adapted to hold a card having the dimensions of a conventional credit card, and is particularly designed to be carried in the credit card compartment of a wallet or similar size compartment holder. The use of a resin emulsion adhesive, a vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer emulsion, in the card book makes it possible to create a properly formed pocket (30) closed on three sides for holding and protecting the card.

18. The wallet size card book of Claim 75, wherein the L-shaped glue strip comprises a resin emulsion adhesive.
19. The wallet size card book of Claim 18, wherein the resin emulsion adhesive is a vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer emulsion.
20. The wallet size card book of Claim 19, wherein the resin emulsion adhesive includes additives.
21. The wallet size card book of Claim 20, wherein the additives include a defoamer.
22. The wallet size card book of Claim 75, wherein the thickness of the L-shaped glue strip ranges between 1/16 inch to about 1/4 inch.
28. An adhesive strip extending along the marginal edges between a first and second leaf and comprising an adhesive made of a copolymer emulsion, and wherein the adhesive strip is of a width sufficient to adhere the second leaf to the first leaf, the width ranging between about 1/16 inch to about 3/16 inch.
29. The adhesive strip of Claim 28, wherein the copolymer emulsion is vinyl
acetate ethylene copolymer emulsion.
30. The adhesive strip of Claim 29, wherein the content of the vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer emulsion is approximately >95wt.%.
31. The adhesive strip of Claim 28, further including additives.
32. The adhesive strip of Claim 31, wherein the additive is a defoamer.

34. The adhesive strip of 28, wherein the adhesive strip preferably extends approximately 1/16 inch from the bottom marginal edge and approximately 3/16 inch from the side marginal edge of the first leaf.
67. A method for making a wallet size card book, comprising the steps of:
(a) positioning at least one cover and a plurality of leaves together in an open position to form at least one card book;
(b) securing the cover to the plurality of leaves by stitching along a mid¬
point;
(c) cutting a first leaf shorter and narrower than the cover;
(d) applying a resin emulsion adhesive to the inner surface of at least one cover;
(f) placing the card book and at least two dies in a vise;
(g) squeezing the vise under pressure for a sufficient amount of time to seal the first leaf and two edges of a second leaf to the inner surface of at least one cover, forming a pocket for holding a wallet size card.
68. The method of Claim 67, wherein the resin emulsion adhesive is a vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer emulsion.
69. The method of Claim 68, wherein the resin emulsion adhesive includes
additives.
70. The method of Claim 69, wherein the additives include a defoamer.
71. The method of Claim 67, wherein the resin emulsion adhesive forms an L- shaped glue strip along two edges of the inner surface of the cover.

72. The method of Claim 71, wherein the L-shaped glue strip extends across a bottom and side edge of the inner surface of at least one cover.
73. The method of Claim 67, wherein the pressure of the vise ranges between approximately 2000 and 4000 lbs/in2.
74. The method of Claim 67, wherein the vise is squeezed between about 30 seconds and about 1 minute.
75. A wallet size card book comprising: a. a cover having a fold which divides the cover into a front cover panel and a rear cover panel;
b. a plurality of leaves attached at the fold, the leaves forming pages; c. a L-shaped glue strip extended along two edges of at least one leaf; and d. a pocket formed by a first leaf being sealed to the inner surface of the
cover and cut shorter and narrower than the cover, and a second leaf being sealed along two edges to the L-shaped glue strip with a third edge attached at the fold and a fourth edge remaining open, wherein the card book is of a suitable size and configuration large enough to retain a conventional size credit card and yet small enough to fit within the conventional card compartments of a wallet.
76. The wallet size card book of claim 75, wherein the card book has a height dimension of approximately 3 5/16 inches to about 3 5/β inches and a width dimension
ranging between about 2 % inches to about 2 % inches.

77. The wallet size card book of claim 76, wherein the dimensions of the card book are 2 V-. inches by A inches.
78. The wallet size card book of claim 75, wherein the L-shaped glue strip
preferably extends approximately '/,6 inch from the bottom edge of the inner surface of the cover, and 3/l6 inch from the side edge of the inner surface of the cover.
80. The adhesive strip of claim 28, wherein the adhesive strip extending along the marginal edges forms an L-shaped configuration.
