Abstract
A winch anchored to a sub surface, adapted for winding a hawser, chain, rope etc., comprising a barrel with drive means, the barrel (1) of the winch thereby being such arranged that the axis of the barrel is substantially vertical or has a smaller angle to the vertical plane, perpendicularly to the horizontal direction of the hawser from the winch.
Description
Mooring winch The present invention is related to a winch according the preamble of claims. By winding of the hawsers and such on winches, to a great extend winding devices are used to distribute the hawser evenly along the barrel of the winch. It is here normally used winches having a horizontal axis where the winding device is displaced horizontally to distribute the hawser along the winch barrel.
Mooring hawsers in special connections can comprise a forerunner followed by a chain which again is connected to a hawser. This means that a winding device must be able to handle different diameters and other properties for respectively the s forerunner, the chain and the hawser. It therefore is not sufficient that the winding device is displaced for example directly independent of the rotations of the barrel of the winch.
With the winch according to the present invention, a device is provided for simplified winding of the hawsers, ropes, 0 chains and such, possibly also for the forerunner, where the winch as such is controlled by simple means.
The winch may be used as a storage winch, a mooring winch or also in connection with more sophisticated operations offshore. s The winch according to the present invention satisfies the objects of the present invention as described above, and is defined by the features stated in the claims.
The drawing discloses in figure 1 schematically a ground view of one embodiment of the invention and figure 2 o discloses a side view of the winch in figure 1.
The anchoring of the winch is part of a deck 2. The barrel 1 of the winch is as arranged substantially vertically, or tilted, with a lower anchoring in the deck 2 and an upper anchoring in a lever 3 which is connected with the deck 2 via a 5 post 4.
The winch may be produced in various designs, for example may the driving power of the winch be transferred in the deck anchoring or through the lever 3 to the upper part of the barrel 1.
The winding device is achieved by the fact that the axis of the barrel is tilted. In some cases the winch may be designed with a fixed tilting, especially where all parameters are relatively constant and predictable. In many cases, however, it will be an advantage that the tilting can be varied such that the hawser is winded on the barrel 1 whereby the tilting of the barrel continuously is adjusted. In cases where an intermediate chain is to be winded, the winding is controlled in such a way that the chain comes to rest on the lower portion 5 of the barrel, whereafter the hawser again is guided up to the barrel 1 by a corresponding change of the tilting of the barrel axis.
The change of the tilting may be achieved by making the lower anchoring of the barrel 1 displaceable to the right and the left in figure 2, or by making the upper anchoring of the barrel 1 correspondingly displaceable on the lever 3.
An amendment of the tilting angle of the barrel axis also may be achieved by making the L-shaped support device comprising the arm 3 and the steps 4 tiltable about the lower anchoring of the steps 4 to the deck 2. The winch according to the present invention mainly is designed for manual control of the tilting angle of the barrel axis. This ensures highly considerations as to temporary conditions, especially offshore.
