Abstract
A booklet which comprises closure panels (2, 3, 4), one (4) of which being equipped with a closure flap (5), and several remaining panels (6) are continuous only along a back edge (1), with which also the closure panels (2, 3, 4) are continuous, whereby turning over and writing in these remaining panels (6) is possible, and the closure panels (2, 3, 4) can keep the remaining panels (6) and each other together for mailing.
Description
Booklet for mailing.
The present invention relates to a booklet for mailing.
Such booklets are known in several designs. As examples of prints describing such booklets the US patents 1185993, 1199397 and 3858792 are mentioned . The first mentioned shows three continuous panels separated by fold lines. In folded condition the two outermost panels may be interconnected, as they are equipped with flaps and slits. The second print shows a pocket formed by two rectangular panels interconnected along three edges, and a cover panel having a fastening flap, adapted to close the opening of the pocket. The third print shows a series of continuous panels which can be folded together and be closed by an end panel. All these booklets are adapted for mailing.
The present invention provides a booklet which comprises closure panels, one of which being equipped with a closure flap, and the booklet is characterized in that several remaining panels are interconnected only along a back edge, with which also the closure panels are interconnected, thereby making it possible to turn over and write in these remaining panels, and the closure panels can keep the remaining panels and each other closed for mailing.
Thus, a booklet has been provided which contains panels forming a "book" and which can be closed for mailing. The panels forming the "book" may be provided with text, pictures, drawings or similar, or they may be completely or partly "free" to be written on. The booklet, thus, can constitute a "book letter". Text, pictures, drawings or similar may also be provided on the closure panels, but also these may be completely or partly "free" to be written on.
The booklet according to the invention will in the following be explained more detailed, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 shows a booklet according to the invention, seen towards the side which constitutes the outside in closed condition. Fig. 2 shows the inside of the closure panels and the closure flap and the remaining panels which permit turning over. Fig. 3 shows the booklet seen in profile, with all of the panels partially unfolded.
The shown booklet comprises three closure panels 2, 3, 4, of which the panel 4 is equipped with a closure flap 5. The closure panels 2 and 3 are interconnected along back edge 1. In addition several remaining panels 6 are also connected to this back edge 1 and form a "book" inside the booklet. The panels may for instance be stapled together in the back edge 1. The panels may be provided with text, drawings, picture similar, and they may be completely or partly "free" for writing. Fig. 1 shows pictures the outside of the closure panels 2 and 4 and lines for an address on the outside of t closure panel 3. Fig. 2 shows a picture on the closure panel 4 and a map on the clos panel 2, and shows in addition one of the remaining panels 6, all of which being connected in the back edge 1. Fig. 3 shows cleariy that the closure panels 2 and 3 ar interconnected along the back edge 1 and that all the remaining panels 6 are fastene the back edge 1.
The closure panel 4 may be omitted, whereby the closure flap 5 is continuous with th edge of the closure panel 3.
It will be appreciated that the booklet may conveniently be made of relatively thin cardboard.
The "book" formed by the panels 6 is simple to page through, and may comprise sev pages, which are simpler to manipulate than a long strip of successively connected panels, as shown in US 3858792.
Claims

2. A booklet according to claim 1, characterized in that the closure panels (2, 3, 4) comprise a panel (2) on one side of the back edge, having dimensions which mainly correspond to the remaining panels (6), and two continuous panels (3, 4) on the opposite side of the back edge (1 ), having mainly the said dimensions, whereby the outermost (4) of the continuous panels is equipped with a closure flap (5).
