Abstract
Attached to a kitchen garbage disposal unit under a sink, the device can temporarily store the mulched food waste from a kitchen garbage disposal unit by manually operating a lever on the diversion valve to allow the flow of waste material to flow into a storage container which is readily detached so that the food waste can be removed for composting, etc. If the kitchen garbage disposal unit is not in use for mulching, the diversion valve can be manually turned to original position to allow normal water sink waste to flow undisturbed out a normal under sink drain.
Description
IN-LINE WASTE RECEPTACLE
This invention relates to composting of waste material from garbage disposal unit. It is of P.V.C. construction, detachable, mobile storage container for temporary storage of food waste from a kitchen sink garbage disposal units in preference to the waste going to the sewer or landfill.
Figure 1. Shows a example of contructed storage bin waste disposal r cnonnttaaiinnoerr
r piiinpiinnrgi
The principal behind Comp - A - Can is to utilize for composting or worm farming etc.. the liquified mulched food waste from a kitchen garbage disposal unit instead of it going down the sewer pipes and adding to the ever increasing problems of sewer management in our communities or having to bag the waste product and dispose of it in our landfill situation.
The pipe taking the waste from a kitchen garbage disposal unit to the outflow pipe from the sink has a : (1 ) T - section pipe placed into it in that T - section is a lever.
(2) The lever which by having horizontal allows for just water to travel along it by turning the lever vertical stops the flow of liquified mulch waste and redirects it down a normal P.V.C. pipe.
(3) Down a normal P.V.C. pipe to a P.V.C. cap and lining male section which just slips over the pipe.
(4) P.V.C. cap and lining male section base screws onto a Access coupling.
(5) A access coupling which is cut to length of approximately 20cm at the base of this is glued a Seal ring adaptor. (6) A Seal ring adaptor which makes the base water tight the No. 5 and
No. 6 form the water tight storage container for liquified mulch waste. As the top of No. 4 is not attached it is able to just slip up the neck of the pipe when its base is unscrewed from the top of No. 5 . This allows
easy removal of the base to be taken out and emptied. When a kitchen garbage disposal unit is not being used for mulching waste the lever in the T - section is left in a horizontal position to allow for water from sink use to continue undisturbed. The shape and size under the sink would determined an No. 7 P.V.C. "S" Bend. The Comp - A - Can storage container should be emptied daily after use to prevent decomposition taking place in kitchen. (7) A P.V.C. "S" Bend use is optional.
Claims
1. Comp - A -Can is a environmentally friendly way of disposing of the liquified mulched food waste from a kitchen garbage disposal unit. The kitchen waste can be easily stored and removed to your compost bin, compost pile or worm farm etc.. for an easier and more rapid way of decomposing compost. In using Comp - A - Can in conjunction with your kitchen garbage disposal unit you will be helping the fight against our ever increasing problem of sewer management in our communities without increasing our waste products in our landfill situations.
2. I claim my device was designed from the idea of giving an alternative to flushing down the sewer what could be called perfectly good composting materials. It is something that every environmentally conscious person that has a kitchen garbage disposal unit will want. They can utilize a previously wasted product into their personal environment to enable the decomposition of their compost to be more rapid because of the mulched state of the food waste.
3. The Comp - A - Can is to be fitted to a kitchen garbage disposal unit. To do this the horizontal P.V.C. pipe that is connected to the kitchen garbage disposal unit and to the vertical outlet pipe from the kitchen sink plug hole has to be removed and replaced with a T - Section diversion valve. The horizontal pipe is in place to carry liquified food waste from the garbage disposal unit to the vertical outlet pipe and into the sewers. The T - Section diversion valve has 3 chamber openings and a lever which can control the movement of a blocking chamber which allows either the water to flow along the horizontal chamber and into the under sink out flow pipe or by rotating the lever on the diversion valve enables you to redirect the flow on a right angle down the vertical chamber into a P.V.C. pipe which is connected to the lower chamber of the T - Section diversion valve. This 1 " P.V.C. pipe sits inside a 2" x 4" level invert taper this level invert taper sits inside 4" x 6" level invert taper which sits inside a 6" P.V.C. pipe and has a screw on base which works as the storage cylinder. When the garbage disposal unit is in use and kitchen food waste is being mulched this liquified mulched food waste is able to be directed into the 1" P.V.C. vertical pipe and gushes down the cone shaped level invert tapers and into the storage container base. When this is full or each evening the storage container base can be simply removed by popping up the 2" x4" level invert taper and sliding the base section out from underneath it and carried outside to be disposed of on the organic compost pile, bin or worm farm. There is no mechanical or electrically moving parts to this apparatus. It is constructed of P.V.C. plumbering supplies and the T - section diversion valve in manually operated.
AMENDED CLAIMS

1 The Comp - A - Can is to be fitted to a kitchen garbage disposal unit.
This 1" P.V.C. pipe sits inside a 2" x 4" level Invert taper this level invert taper sits inside 4" x 6" level invert taper which sits inside a 6* P.V.C. pipe and has a screw on base which works as the storage cylinder. When the garbage disposal unit is in use and kitchen food waste is being mulched this liquified mulched food waste is able to be directed into the 1 " P.V.C. vertical pipe and gushes down the cone shaped level invert tapers and into the storage container base. When this is full or each evening the storage container base can be simply removed by popping up the Z χ4" level invert taper and sliding the base section out from underneath it and carried outside to be disposed of on the organic compost pile, bin or worm farm. There is no mechanical or electrically moving parts to this apparatus. It is constructed of P.V.C plumberiπg supplies and the T - section diversion valve in manually operated.
