Abstract

The invention relates to a pen whose body has such a shape and construction that it allows the incorporation of a larger stamp. The stamp is integrated in the body of the pen without a mechanism or a joint, while the pulling out of a cartridge, which is made possible by an incorporated starting mechanism, is attained through a quick and brief shake of the pen. The body (1) of the pen with built-in stamp is fitted - in its upper, widened part in the shape of a quill and the cross section of an ellipse - with a stamp (3) covered with a top (2), while the lower part of the body (1) has in cross section the approximate shape of a triangle, and the upper - widened - part of the body lies outside the main axis of the pen.

Description

PEN WITH BUILT-IN STAMP
The invention refers to a pen with built-in stamp whose body is designed in such a way as to allow the incorporation of a larger-size stamp. The stamp is built into the pen's body without a mechanism or a joint, and the extraction of a writing cartridge, which is made possible through a in-built starting mechanism, is attained through a quick, brief shake of the pen.
The invention belongs to the I PC class B 43K 29/00. The technical problem which has been successfully solved by the present invention is how to design a pen which will allow combination with a larger-size stamp without any additional parts, while the pen itself will be compact and easy to use, having as few components as possible.
Known solutions of the given technical problem are carried out with a mechanism or a joint by means of which a stamp carrying plate is placed rectangularly to the pen's axis, or in some other position suitable for stamping.
A solution of a writing device with built-in stamp is known from the European patent document EP 433572. The device is fitted, at an extension of the pen's body, under a removable top, with a plate carrying a stamp which can be applied when the top has been removed.
A pen with built-in stamp is known from the American patent document no. US 4 606 665, where a stamp carrying plate and a pad are located under a removable top lying in parallel and in the pen's axis. When the top has been removed, a built-in mechanism pushes aside the pad, and the stamp carrying mechanism which is clamped centrally over a joint, assumes the appropriate position for stamping.
The drawbacks of known design solutions of mounting the stamp carrying plate lie primarily in the fact that the pens are very weak at the moving part and, because of that, prone to damage or easily breakable. In addition, the biggest possible width of the stamp carrying plate is limited by the pen's diameter, which must not be excessively increased if one is to keep a good grip of the pen. The pen with built-in stamp in accordance with the invention has the stamp installed in its upper, widened part, which has the shape of a quill and an elliptical cross-section, while the lower part of the body has the cross-section of an approximate triangle, and the upper, widened part lies outside the main axis of the pen.
The invention will be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 is a plan of a pen with built-in stamp in cross-section;
Fig.2 is a longitudinal cross-section of a pen with built-in stamp in accordance with the invention;
Fig.3 is a transversal A-A cross-section;
Fig. 4 is a transversal B-B cross-section;
Fig.5 is a transversal C-C cross-section.
At the part where the stamp 3 is incorporated, the body 1 of the pen with built-in stamp, as shown in Figures 1 through 5, widens into a quill and has, at this part, the cross-section in the shape of an ellipse, while the lower part of the body 1 has in cross-section the approximate shape of a triangle, whereby the upper - widened - part of the body 1 lies outside the main axis of the pen.
The pen with built-in stamp in accordance with the invention consists 96/11115 PCΪ7SI9500024
4 -
of a body 1, a stamp top 2, a stamp 3, a starting mechanism 4 and a cartridge 5.
In the central and - partly - the lower part, where the pen should be held, the body 1 of the pen in accordance with the invention has the shape of a triangle, which assures good positioning of the pen in the hand during writing, and provides sufficient support during the application of the stamp 3.
The stamp 3 can be applied if the pen is turned on its back and the top 2 is removed. At the inner side of the top 2 a pad can be installed, while in the case that the stamp is made of micro porous rubber which contains paint, the top 2 is empty. A clock 10 can also be mounted inside the upper part of the top 2.
A starting mechanism 4, which is installed in the central part of the body 1 , is inserted into the body 1 through an opening in the place where the stamp 3 is fitted afterwards. Through the opening 7 a weight 8 is also inserted which is held in position by the inserted stamp 3 on the one side and by the starting mechanism 4 on the other side.
The cartridge 5 is pulled out by a brief, swift shake of the pen. The shock makes the weight 8 press against the starting mechanism 4, so that this overcomes the resistance of the spring 6 and the cartridge is fixed in its pulled-out position (as shown in Figures 1 and 2). Another shake of the pen brings the cartridge 5 back into the body 1 of the pen in accordance with the invention. In this way the cartridge 5 cannot get dry, and the pen itself does not need any additional top. A holding clip 9 of the pen is fitted at the lower side of the body 1. Its shape agrees with the shape of the lower part of the pen's body 1.
When the cartridge 5 is empty, it is pulled out through the lower-end opening of the body 1 and replaced by a new one.
The pen with built-in stamp in accordance with the invention successfully solves the given technical problem, at it has no special moving parts on account of the built-in stamp 3; in addition, the place into which the stamp 3 is built is essentially larger than that of known constructional solutions of pens with built-in stamps. The applying of the stamp is simple, while the body 1 of the pen is ergonomically shaped and allows the use of a pull-out cartridge 5.
