Abstract
The invention concerns a snail-proof fence (1) which is secure but not harmful to animals. This snail-proof fence (1) is formed from a plastics strip (2) on which two or a plurality of metal plates (5, 6) are mounted at adequate spacings in the electrochemical contact series. It is possible to use other metal plates (5, 6) of conductive material which either releases dynamic electricity or is connected to a voltage source when a snail touches these plates and produces a bridging contact. Two or a plurality of non-conductive bars (4) between the metal plates (5, 6) prevent unintentional bridging by water or top soil. Reliable insulation is provided in that the plastics strip (2) is protected against rain by a shell-shaped or rectangular covering (7) which curves over the metal plates, and in that a stand (3) can possibly be fitted on the strip part close to the ground. The fence (1) is secured to the ground by plastics pins.
Description
BESCHREIBUNG DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a protective device for securing crops against snail damage.
It is known that until now, effective protection of crop plants against slug feed was only possible with the use of poisons. Where natural decimation by small mammals such. B. hedgehog, is not given, the last resort is usually only the collection of snails by hand.
The invention has for its object to develop a protective device for securing crops against snail damage, which makes the use of poisons or other chemicals unnecessary and protects the plants from snails without these being killed by the protection.
The solution to this problem according to the invention is that at least two mutually insulated sheets of electrically conductive materials, which have a sufficient distance from one another in the electrochemical series of voltages, are attached to a snail fence surrounding the crop plants in such a way that a tension occurs when the sheets are touched by a snail occurs. The sheets are advantageously made of copper and zinc.
Dadurch entsteht eine Verkrampfung der Schnecke, welche fortan nicht mehr fähig ist, denSnails maintain upright or wall-like obstacles easily on the way to the crops. This peculiarity is exploited by the invention in that it forms a wall-like structure with the screw fence creates, which is provided on its outside, as on the side facing away from the crop, with electrically conductive sheet metal certain materials. These sheets must be electrically insulated from one another. That is why they are attached at a distance from each other. The arrangement should be selected so that the snail can come into contact with both sheets when overcoming the snail fence. It has been shown that the electrical voltage occurring with this simultaneous contact is sufficient. This creates a cramp in the snail, which is no longer able to
Schneckenzaun zu überwinden. Diese Verkrampfung endet nicht tödlich.Overcome snail fence. This cramp does not end fatally.
Numerous embodiments and configurations of the invention are listed in the subclaims and are explained in more detail in the description below.
Es zeigen:The invention is shown schematically and for example in the drawing. Show it:

Ausgestaltung des Schneckenzaunes.Design of the snail fence.
The screw fence (1) according to the invention basically consists of an upright bar (2) with a foot (3), both of which are made of plastic and have an electrically insulating effect. On an outside of the bar (2), namely on the side facing away from the crop, there are two sheets (5,6) on the bar (2) made of electrically conductive materials, which in the electrochemical voltage series have a sufficient distance from each other. These sheets (5, 6) must not touch each other and are therefore spaced from each other by a web (4) which is connected to the bar (2).
Auf eben diese Weise soll eine Uberbrückung desThe sheets (5, 6) preferably consist of copper on the one hand and zinc on the other hand. However, any other conductor materials can also be used if they have the property of causing tension when a screw contacts both sheets (5, 6). It should of course also be ensured that the sheets (5, 6) are protected from external influences which can lead to the connection of the sheets (5,6). In order, for example, to prevent growing plants from touching the two sheets (5, 6), the individual foot (3) of the snail fence (1) is designed to be relatively wide. This should give the possibility to drive over the foot (3) when mowing the lawn and to prevent grass growing up towards the plates (5, 6). In this way, a bridging of the
The distance between the sheets (5, 6) can be prevented by splashing water, rainwater or earth crumb.
Kriecht eine Schnecke unter das untere Blech (6) und den angrenzenden Steg (4) und berührt dann das obere Blech (5) , dann stellt sie durch ihren Körper eine leitendeA snail creeps under the lower plate (6) and the adjacent web (4) and then touches the upper plate (5), then it creates a conductive through her body
Connection between the sheets (5,6). When the sheets (5,6) are made of copper and zinc, the galvanic voltage that occurs is approximately 1.28 volts.
Of course, it is also possible to connect the sheets (5, 6) to an electrical power supply, e.g. B. to connect to a battery, such that equipotential bonding occurs when the sheets are touched by a screw.
Leiste (2) eine Uberdeckung (7) an.To protect the sheets (5,6) against rain, snow or other external influences, the Strip (2) a cover (7).
In the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 3, some variants of the invention are shown, which can be used both individually and in combination with one another.
For example, it is expedient to design the strip (2) and the foot (3) as independent components that can be joined together using the connecting means (9). This allows the individual bar (2) to be of any length and connected with two or more feet (3) in order to create a snail fence (1) of a selectable length. The connecting means (9) is shown schematically as a snap lock. Of course, all forms of connecting means are suitable, which on the one hand enable an easy connection and on the other hand impart sufficient strength.
As FIG. 3 shows, the individual foot (3) can also be provided with a mandrel (10) which is driven into the ground and thus provides the foot (3) with sufficient support.
In figure (3) it is also shown that the covering (7) can be releasably connected to the bar (2) by another connecting means (8). This measure has the sense of forming the covering (7) as a design element and thus improving the visual impression of the snail fence (1).
In the example of FIG. 3, the web (4) is designed to be substantially narrower and shorter than the embodiment in FIG. This is intended to give the screw the possibility of getting from one sheet (6) to the other sheet (5) more easily, so that the web (4) is not an obstacle. The upper plate (5) advantageously has a larger area than the lower plate (6), which has led to a greater effect of the screw fence (1) in experiments.
The sheets (5, 6) should also be attached to the screw fence (1) or to the bar (2) using detachable connecting means (11). These can be pins, knobs or the like, for example, which are located on the bar (2) and penetrate into corresponding bores in the metal sheets (5, 6). The invention in no way excludes the use of other fastening means. For example, it is conceivable to press the edges of the sheets (5, 6) into suitable grooves in the strip (2) and to bring about a clamp connection.
