Abstract
The proposed plastic container (1) is produced by an extrusion blowing process from a double-layer tube. The aim of the invention is to improve the tube, which consists of an inner layer (5) of glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETG), an outer layer (6) of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) and an intermediate adhesive (7). The improvement is achieved by the use as adhesive of an anhydride-modified polyolefine, especially polyethylene-propylene or polybutylene.
Description
The invention relates to a container made of plastic, which is formed by an extrusion blow molding process from a two-layer hose, the hose having a PETG (glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate) inner layer and a PE or PP (polyethylene or polypropylene) outer layer an adhesion promoter located between them is formed.
Containers made of plastic as packaging material for liquid cleaning agents, personal care products or the like are known, for. B. from DE-PS 25 28 954 or DE 37 44 639 AI. These extruded from a two-layer thermoplastic plastic container, the outer surface is particularly shiny, while the inner layer z. B. can be colored, especially have good presentation properties. The disadvantage of this container is that in certain products, active ingredients, eg. B. pigments, immigrate into the container material made of polyethylene, which are then missing in the product and deteriorate the product properties.
Basically, containers are also known which consist exclusively of PETG, in which there is no problem with the penetration of product active substances into the container. However, PETG has very poor water vapor barrier properties, so that the containers retract strongly, which is intolerable.
A generic container is known from US-A-4,846,359. In tests with hair tinting agents it has now been found that when using adhesion promoters known for the connection of PE or PP layers to PETG layers, the PETG inner layer is detached and thus the effect desired by the two-layer structure, namely one To create containers which on the one hand have an adequate water vapor barrier and on the other hand the emigration of active ingredients into the Container wall prevented, no longer exists. It is suspected that surfactants and / or emulsifiers contained in hair tinting agents are responsible for this detachment of the PETG inner layer.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide an improved container made of plastic which on the one hand has an adequate water vapor barrier and on the other hand prevents the active substances from migrating into the container wall.
This object is achieved according to the invention with a container of the type mentioned at the outset in that the adhesion promoter is an anhydride-modified polyolefin, in particular polyethylene polypropylene or polybutylene.
It has surprisingly been found that, using such an adhesion promoter, the two thermoplastic materials described can be bonded to one another well and permanently, even under the action of surfactant and / or emulsifier-containing hair tinting agents, and form a PETG-PE or PP Hose can be designed. For this purpose, the two plastics from two extruders are squeezed through slot nozzles which are arranged in an annular nozzle, the adhesive agent being squeezed through a third slot nozzle at the same time. The two-layer bottle formed by blowing air has a good water vapor barrier due to the outside PE or PP layer, the PETG inner layer prevents the active ingredient from migrating out. Through the selection of the suitable adhesion promoter, the various plastics are permanently and firmly bonded to one another and the barrier properties of the two plastic layers are increased overall.
Suitable adhesion promoters are polymers which are compatible both with polyolefins such as polyethylene and with polyesters such as polyethylene glycol terephthalate (PET). Suitable adhesion promoters are anhydride-modified polyolefins, e.g. B. anhydride modified polyethylene polypropylene or polybutylene. Copolymers of the olefins and maleic anhydride mentioned are particularly suitable.
An Ad er SE 800 adhesion promoter has proven particularly suitable from Mitsui Petrochemical Ind., Ltd. Tokyo, Japan highlighted, with which it is surprisingly particularly successful to permanently and firmly bond these two thermoplastics together.
In particular, even under the action of surfactant and / or emulsifier-containing hair tinting agents, the PETG inner layer and the PE or PP outer layer in bottle-shaped containers remain permanently and firmly bonded to one another with the aid of an adhesion promoter according to the invention, so that the desired effects - an adequate water vapor barrier on the one hand and a barrier property against the migration of active ingredients on the other - is permanently maintained.
