Abstract
A portable model case has a base (1) with an architectural model (2) mounted on the base (1). At the edges of the base (1) there are articulated enclosing plates (3) which form the sides of the model case. Modelling (351) of the environmental surrounds are adhered to the inner sides of the enclosing plates (3) consisting of lawn, parking and parkland areas which harmonize with the architectural model body (2) on the base (1). The enclosing plates (3) are linked up by locking devices (4). The enclosing plates (3) can be made of transparent or opaque material. When displaying, the locking devices (4) are opened and the enclosing plates (3) are laid out. When transporting, the enclosing plates (3) are linked up and locked to form a portable case containing the model (2).
Description
A PORTABLE MODEL CASE
The present utility model relates to a portable a ppara t u s . This apparatus is a portable box in which a model is mounted . This apparatus is easy to compose and carry .
A structural model or sand table model is the miniature of a real structure. The model is designed meticulously and manufactured in miniature by the design agency. It is the stereoscopic showing of an achievement, and the policy-making body or investor will make his strategic decision according to it. The environmental landforms and outward appearance of a design can be perceived directly through the model. The features of a structure which will be built according to this design, can be imagined. The good design can be obtained through the comparison of various designs according to models. Therefore, structural models are necessary to the architectural design agencies, plain-making bodies, and military leaders. A model can beused often or many times. Up to now various middle-sized and small-sized models are difficult to carry and transport over a long distance, because they are uncovered and unsmooth. Therefore, same model must be made again and again . To do that need time, labour and expenses.
Particularly, the requirements of showing and demonstration can not be satisfied, and the rapid change of market cannot be suited. It is the purpose of this utility model to surmount the drawback and shortcoming of present technique, and to provide a portable model box in which the model is mounted. The box is easy to compose and transport.
The purpose of this utility model is achieved through f oll ow in g technical scheme.
The modeling body is mounted on the base. The enclosing p l a t e s articulate to the surrounding edges of base. The stuck layers o f environmental modeling are mounted on the inner of enclosing p l a t e s . The stuck layers are harmonized with the modeling body of model. T h e stuck layers are stuck with enclosing plates. When the en closin g plates are put down, the whole designed model is composed of t h e
modeling body on the stuck plates and modeling body on the base.
There are lawn, parking area and park on the stuck players. They c a n be plane patterns or stereoscopic modeling or the combination of b o t h . The enclosing plates are linked up by locking devices. The en closin g plates can be made of transparent or opaque maferial. When t h e locking devices are opened, the enclosing plates are put down, t h e model can be shown. When transport it, the enclosing plates are p u t up and locked to form a portable box in which a model is mounted.
The remarkable effects of this utility model are as follows.
1. The model can be mounted in it, and it can also be exchanged into a portable box. The model can be prevented from collision an d damage.
2. The folded box is easy to transport to various places to show. A model can be used many times.
3. The enclosing plates are not only the parts of the box, b u t also the showing parts of the surrounding environmental scheme, which are the necessary parts to the model.
4. The structure of this apparatus is simple, and easy to p u t into effect. The expenses to make a model again, can be saved. A good applicable condition is created from this apparatus for pu ttin g the model into the market.
5. If the light devices and music devices are set inside this box , then the model box can be exchanged into a handiwork, which i s valuable for preserving and appreciatin g .
The concrete structure of this utility model are shown i n following examples and Figures.

The attached enclosing plates 33 articulate to the left and r i g h t edges of front and rear enclosing plates 32. A edge length of a n attached enclosing plate 33 is equal to an edge length of an enclosing plate 31. When all enclosing plates are put down, attached enclosing plates 33, left and right enclosing plates 31, as well as front and rear enclosing plates 32 form a rectangle plane. The stuck layers 35 are stuck on the inners of plates 31, plates 32and four attached enclosing plates 33. The design pattern of whole environment or environmental modeling 351 which matches the model 1 on base 1, is mounted on the upper of the stuck layers of enclosing plate 35. There
are spacing planes 12 at the edge of base 1, which contact the inner of enclosing plates 3 after folding. See Figure 1 to Figure 3.
There are up-iolded flanges 312 in the "L" shape at the edges o f left and right enclosing plates 31. There are protruding part 313 on the middle of inner of every flange 312. There is a handle pit 314 on the exterior of every flange 312, which responds to the flange 313.
A handle is set in the pit 314. The locking holes are set on the planes of protruding parts 313. There are spacing edges 341 on the left and right edges of upper enclosing plate 34, which contact the flanges 312 of left and right enclosing plates 31. The length of every enclosing plate 34, which contact the flanges 312 of left and right encolsing plates 31. The length of every enclosing plate 31 is equal or shorter than the 1/2 of the length of an enclosing plate 32. See Figure 1.
The notches 13 are set at edges of base 1. The protruding parts 37 are set at lower of enclosing plates 3, which are fitted to the notches 13 of base 1. The base 1 and protruding parts 37 of enclosing plates 3 articulate together by the pin 6. See Figure 5.
The enclosing plates 3 are mode of transparent organic glass.
The operation of this utility model as following:
When model is shown, the locking mechanisms are opened, the enclosing plates are put down one by one. The model 2 and the designed scenery on the inners of enclosing plates are shown completely and directly. When the model is transported or carried, first fold attached enclosing plates 33 to the inners of front and rear enclosing plates 32, then fold the rear enclosing plate 32 up, fold horizontally the upper enclosing plate 34 front, fold left and right enclosing plates 31 up. Lock plates 31 and plate 34 together by locking mechanisms 4. Finally fold the front enclosing plates 32 up, lock plates 32 and plate 34 together. The model box can be carried by handles. See Figure 1.
The folding method, operation and structure of this apparatus, which shown in Figure 4, are similar to the ones in Figure 1. The difference between both is that there is not any attached enclosing
plates 35, and the modelings 311 which are fitted to the main m o d e l , can be set on i t .
The attached enclosing plates 33 can be added to or taken o f f according to the requirement. In the designs of small zone planning, developing zone planning, water conservancy project, hub o f communication, and military sand table model 1 the attached enclosing plates are required because of that the surrounding environmental planning requires place.
In the designs of small hotel, residence zone or garden t h e attached enclosing plates 35 can be taken off. Sometimes can add t h e stuck layer of enclosing plates 35 and environmental modeling 351 t o the front and rear enclosing plates, or left and right en closin g plates. In this condition, it is a rectangle.
When the stuck layers of enclosing plates 35 are taken off, a l l the enclosing plates 3 can be made of transparent plate, so that t h e model on base can be observed without openning it after composing. I t is also easy to carry. In this condition it is a valuable handiwork or ornament for using, preserving and appreciatin g.
