Abstract

Method for producing animal or plant eucaryotic cells or cell clusters, resistant to streptothricin or analogues thereof, including the steps of transforming said eucaryotic cells with a plasmid containing an exogenous DNA sequence coding for a streptothricin acetyl transferase (SAT), which comprises the DNA sequence coding for said streptothricin acetyl transferase (DNA-SAT) in an appropriate position, and one or more DNA sequences coding for elements controlling the expression of said DNA-SAT sequence in said cells, and selecting the cells resistant to streptothricin or its analogues after their transformation.
