Abstract
The object of the invention is a shape-restorer for compressed toilet paper and paper towel rolls. The shape-restorer consists of one or two cores (1, 2) which restore the paper roll to its normal round shape when inserted into the ends of the core (4) of the compressed paper roll (3).
Description
SHAPE-RESTORER FOR COMPRESSED TOILET PAPER AND PAPER TOWEL ROLLS
The object of this invention is a shape-restorer for • compressed toilet paper and paper towel rolls.
Compressed toilet paper products are available at least in the market of the United States, Estonia and Sweden. The restoring of the shape of these products is left to the consumer, i.e., the product has to be compressed to the original, round shape by hand as well as possible. The shaping of a tightly compressed roll by hand into the round shape is difficult, even impossible with respect to the core. The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the drawback described above and to make it possible to restore the compressed toilet paper or paper towel roll to its normal round shape, which is necessary in order for the roll to be used, especially with respect to the inner core for conventional table and wall-mounted holders used in homes.
The shape-restorer according to the invention is characterized in that the shape- estorer consists of one or two cores which restore the paper roll into its normal, round shape when inserted into the ends of the core of the compressed paper roll. Using the invention it is possible to make the core of the compressed roll fully symmetrical and the shape of the roll is restored nearly to its former shape in a few seconds. The core parts can easily be shifted into a new roll after the paper has been used up. Because of mass production, the very cheap plastic parts can first be distributed to each buyer of the product at the sales place or they can be placed inside/in connection with each bag.
The invention eliminates the greatest problem of the logistically superior compressed toilet paper and paper towel rolls, i.e., the restoring of the roll to a useful shape for
home use. Compressed tissue paper rolls take up to 2/3 less room than conventional rolls, depending on the product.
Different embodiments of the invention are disclosed in the dependent Claims.
The invention is described in the following with the aid of an example with reference to the appended drawing in which:
Fig. 1 shows compressed toilet rolls packaged in plastic film, Fig. 2 shows the shape-restorer, i.e., the pair of cores in the packaged position,
Fig. 3 shows the cores of the shape-restorer as pressed into the paper roll, and
Fig. 4 shows the cores according to another embodiment for kitchen rolls, for instance.
The shape-restorer consists of one or two cores 1, 2 which restore the paper roll to its normal round shape when inserted into the ends of core 4 of compressed paper roll 3, as shown in Fig. 3. The embodiment of Figs. 2 and 3 comprise core 1, 2 which is completely conical to the extent that when packaging, the pair of cores can be accommodated in a small space and the fitting of the cores into the paper roll is easier because of the conical shape. The other end of the core comprises a flange-like collar 5 which makes it easier to install the core into the paper roll as well as to remove it from the paper roll.
The shape-restorer according to the invention is best adapted to the restoring of the shape of toilet paper rolls but it can be applied, according to the above, in other tissue paper rolls, such as paper towel and paper napkin rolls.
Claims
1. A shape-restorer for compressed toilet paper and paper towel rolls, characterized in that the shape-restorer consists of one or two cores, (1, 2) which restore the paper roll to its normal round shape when inserted into the ends of the core (4) of the compressed paper roll (3) .
2. A shape-restorer according to Claim 1, characterized in that the core (1, 2) is fully or partly conical.
3. A shape-restorer according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the other end of the core (1, 2) comprises a flange- like collar (5) .
4. A shape-restorer according to Claim 2, characterized in that the conicality of the core is so great that when packaging the pairs of cores, they can be fitted inside each other (Fig. 2) .
5. A shape-restorer according to any of the preceding Claims, characterized in that the core (1, 2) is manufactured from plastic.
