Abstract
Outil utilisable en plongée pouvant être transporté et mis en ÷uvre à tout endroit. Cette machine ne pèse que 3 kg, à la différence des outils destinés à d'autres processus de polissage, qui peuvent peser de 1 500 à 4 000 kg tout en étant très encombrants et difficiles à man÷uvrer. En outre, elle n'est pas polluante. Elle prend l'eau directement dans la mer/le port où elle est utilisée et elle la restitue. Grâce à son faible poids et au fait qu'elle se sert de la pression de l'eau à titre de source d'énergie, cette nouvelle machine est facile à man÷uvrer, c'est-à-dire qu'elle n'exige aucun effort physique de la part des utilisateurs (plongeurs). Par ailleurs, étant donné qu'elle utilise des meules diamant lubrifiées à l'eau, ladite machine permet d'obtenir une finition de 0,35 micromètres à la surface externe du bronze sur l'hélice. Ceci représente une amélioration de presque 50 % par rapport aux autres procédés connus. Par conséquent, on obtient pour les grands navires des économies supplémentaires de combustible d'au moins 3 % par an.
