Abstract

Novel type of hollow or solid pads for high precision obturating of any wind instrument provided with a mechanism. The invention provides a solution to the problems of leakage, condensation and adjustment associated with such instruments. The pad consists of a rigid base (1) with a non-rigid washer (2) resting thereon, the whole being covered with a fluocarbonaceous resin film folded back over the side (3). The rigid base (1) of the solid pad is cone-shaped, while the base of the hollow pad is rounded on the edge, the central hole being slightly flared at the base.
