Abstract
Corrugated cardboard sections used as padding for packaging usually consist of laminated corrugated cardboard webs and are in board form. The corrugated layers separated by covering layers make these sections relatively highly rigid perpendicularly to the main plane of the layers. In order to make such corrugated cardboard sections more versatile and improve their padding properties, at least some of the corrugated layers (20) of the multilayer corrugated cardboard section (10) are adequately pre-upset. By upsetting perpendicularly or transversely to the web plane, a kink is produced in the sides (21) of each individual corrugation, while the ridges and valleys (22) remain unaltered. The upset corrugated cardboard sections thus retain great elasticity as a result of the recovery effect of the flattened sides in interaction with the unaltered valleys/ridges of the corrugations.
Claims
1.
