Abstract

The connecting means comprises a plastic part (3) having a channel (5) which by means of a screw fastening device (2) is carried by an angle plate (1). The main object of the invention is to make it possible to fasten the connecting means onto the rear axle of the perambulator by simple manual handling so that it can be adjusted in height relative to the rear axle of the perambulator and by its, in respect of movements, flexible design take the loads which occur during transportation of perambulator and standing board.

Description

Connecting means for a standing board for a perambulator
The present invention is for a connecting means which is to be mounted onto a standing board in order to make possible a connection between the rear axle of a perambulator and the standing board.
In order to facilitate the transportation of two children when using a perambulator there are so-called standing boards with wheels which are connected to the lower rear part of the perambulator. The older child may then stand on the standing board during transportation while at the same time the younger one is lying or sitting in the perambulator.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a connecting device which by simple manual handling can be attached to the rear axle of most ordinary perambulators of traditional kind and which is simply adjustable in respect of the height of the rear axle which makes it possible to adjust the height of the standing board according to the height of the rear axle of the perambulator. Another object is a connecting device such that it can take the occuring loads especially dynamically in the connection and which does not slip uncontrolled axially along the rear axle of the prea bulator. Other objects are a connecting means which does not in any way damage the rear axle of the preambulator and which as far as possible minimizes play in the connection between the rear axle of the preambulator and the connecting means. These and other objects are achieved by a connecting device according to the invention which has the characterizing features of the patent claims.
The invention will below be described more in detail with reference to the drawings which show a preferred embodiment of the connecting device.
Figure 1 a is a side view of the connecting means with a plastic part 3 in its upper position according to the invention.
Figure 1 b is a side view of the connecting means with plastic part 3 in its lower position.
Figure 2 shows the front side with the plastic part in its upper position with channel 5 which is intended to be pushed onto the rear axle of the perambulator.
Figure 3 shows the connecting means from above.
The connecting means shown in Figures 1 a, 1 b, 2 and 3 comprises an angle plate 1 which by means of a screw fastener 2 carries a plastic part 3. A two-legged pin 4 is pushed into through-passing holes in the plastic part. The plastic part 3 has a channel 5 which is designed so that it from behind can easily be pushed onto and attached to the rear axle of the perambulator. The channel 5 is initially slightly conical 6 and thereafter circular 7. As the diameter of the rear axle of the perambulator is the same as the width of the channel 5 at the outer surface of the plastic part and the channel is only slightly conical inwards it is easy to manually push the connecting means onto the rear axle of the perambulator so that the rear axle of the perambulator finally ends up in the circular part of the channel whereby the plastic part and also the whole of the connecting means is attached to the rear axle of the perambulator by a mechanical joint. The mechanical joint is obtained thereby that the circular part of the channel has a slightly smaller diameter than the rear axle of the perambulator. The friction in the contact surface between the circular part of the channel and the rear axle of the perambulator is sufficient to prevent unintentional axial slipping along the rear axle of the perambulator. The two- legged pin 4 is thereafter pushed down from above into the plastic part in order to prevent the rear axle of the perambulator from slipping out of the circular part of the channel during transportation. When the two-legged pin is pushed into the plastic part both of its legs almost touch the rear axle of the perambulator so that radial play in the connection is minimized. The relatively low friction between the rear axle of the perambulator and the circular part of the channel of the plastic part allows the connecting means to move peripherically around the rear axle of the perambulator. The screw of the fastening means 2 is mounted together with washers 8 and locking nut 9 so that a friction connection is obtained. The plastic part 3 may rotate around the axial centre of the screw fastening means by means of a certain manual force which makes possible the height adjustment of the connecting means according to figures 1 a and 1 b. The possibility for the plastic part to rotate around the screw fastening means also makes possible a continous angle adjustment relative to the angle plate 1 which is essential when the height of the standing board over the surface and also the angle plate sidewise varies a lot during transportation.

Claims

1) Connecting means for a standing board for a perambulator comprising a plastic part (3) having a channel (5) which by means of a screw fastener arrangement (2) is carried by an angle plate (1), characterized therein that the plastic part when the connecting means is in use can rotate with a certain friction resistance, both peripherically around the axial centre of the screw fastening means and peripherically around the rear axle of the perambulator when the rear axle of the perambulator is in a position in the circular part (7) of the channel.
2) Connecting means according to claim 1, characterized in that a two-legged pin (4) when the connecting means is in use prevents the rear axle of the perambulator from slipping out of the circular part (7) of the channel.
