- Waste wood is formed in abundance in parks, gardens, forests and building sites, which should be minuted in order to facilitate the treatment, or to compost it.
- Various choppers are known in the art with which chop wood is made for bur- ning or for industrial needs. Said choppers are heavy and expensive machines which are not economically appropriate for minuting small wood or waste.
- Hammer mills are also known of prior art with which various kinds of waste is crushed. They are usually large in size and require a lot of energy.
- hammer mills intended for garden use nothing else but very small brushwood can be minuted, but said mills are not themselves able to feed into the machine the material to be minuted.
- Wood hackers provided with a conical screw blade are also known in the art, such as the design disclosed in the Finnish patent No. 70538.
- a shortcoming in said design is that branches or felling waste cannot be minuted economically therewith because the cone screw is not itself capable of pulling in small-diam ⁇ eter material.
- Said cone screw blade is expensive to manufacture and a hacker like that needs a separate feed brake with which the automatic pulling-in of wood into the hacker can be discontinued for safety reasons.
- the objective of the present invention is to produce a waste wood minuting means which is light in weight and cheap to produce, and which itself is capable of pulling the wood to be minuted into the means but in which the pull-in force is, however, so small that wood feeding can be interrupted manually, wherefor it is safe to use.
- the aims of the invention are achieved by means of a wood chopper which is mainly characterized in that the angle of inclination of the front wall of the feed hopper relative to the centerline of the cutting blade means is over 30°but below 60°and that the clearance angle of the screw surface of the cutting blade means is at least 5 degrees and at most, 15 degrees.
- the wood chopper of the invention With the wood chopper of the invention a variety of advantages are achieved. First, the wood chopper itself pulls in the wood to be minuted, though the pulling can be interrupted with hands. The power demand of the chopper is small which makes it well appropriate for use in gardens and parks by using a separate motor.

Abstract
La présente invention se rapporte à une hache-bois comportant une trémie (11) d'amenée du bois à broyer (18), un châssis (12), un orifice (15) de décharge de morceaux de bois, et un dispositif à couteaux (13) monté rotatif dans le châssis (12), ledit châssis étant équipé d'une surface cylindrique à vis (14) dont le bord extérieur constitue un couteau destiné à détacher des morceaux du bois à broyer contre une surface de contre-pression prévue dans le châssis (12) ou dans la trémie (11). L'angle d'inclinaison (η) formé entre la paroi avant de la trémie (11) et la ligne médiane du dispositif à couteaux (13) est supérieur à 30° mais inférieur à 60°. L'angle de dépouille de la surface à vis (14) du dispositif à couteaux (13) est compris entre 5 et 15°.
