Definitions

  • the present invention relates to sandals which are used during swimming at beach or for indoor exercise. BACKGROUND ART
  • the object of the invention is to provide a sandal which solve above-mentioned problems.
  • the sandal of the present invention comprises; a synthetic rubber sole; and an upper made of elastic material and having the same size with the sole; wherein said sole and upper are bonded together along their peripheral portions, a slit for inserting the foot and a plurality of expansible slits are formed in the upper.
  • Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the sandal according to the present invention.
  • Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the sandal of this invention.
  • Fig. 3 shows the shape of the sandal when it is used.
  • the sole 2 made of synthetic rubber sponge and the upper 3 made of elastic material are cut so that the sole 2 has the same size with the upper 3. Then, the sole 2 and upper 3 are bonded together along their peripheral portions 2' and 3' at the bonding portion 6 to form the body 1 of the sandal.
  • a longitudinal slit 4 is formed as an opening for inserting the foot.
  • a plurality of expansible slits 4' are formed slantwise at both sides of the slit 4.
  • a slot 5 is formed in the front upper 3" and a plurality of expansible slits 4" which are parallel to the periphery of the front upper 3" are formed.
  • the sandal of the present invention When the sandal of the present invention is used during swimming or indoor sports, a foot is inserted through the longitudinal slit 4. Then, because the upper 3 is made of elastic material and has a plurality of expansible slits 4' and 4", the upper 3 will be expanded together with the slits 4' and 4" to conform with the shape of the foot as shown in Fig. 3. Therefore, the sandal of this invention will keep tight contact with the foot even during violent exercise in water, on sands or indoors. When the sandal is taken off from the foot, the upper returns to its original flat form close to the sole due to its elasticity.
  • the sandal of the present invention is very convenient to carry or store and it is also easy to pack or transport long distance.
  • the space of the front upper 3" can be used for advertizement or ornament.
  • the sandal of this invention is easy to carry or store.
  • the upper 3 is made of elastic material and has expansible slits 4, 4' and 4", the upper 3 will contact with the foot tightly and the sandal will not be taken off even during violent exercise. Since the manufacturing cost of the sandal of this invention is very low due to its simple structure, it can be used as disposable sandal or sandal for sales promotion.
