Abstract
The invention relates to a loading bridge to be coupled to a trailer. As a loading bridge acts an interchangeable bridge (3) of a truck, which bridge has locking members for coupling the bridge to the trailer.
Description
LOADING RAMP.
The invention relates to transportation technique and to a loading bridge to be used in the loading of a trailer of a truck.
In the trailers of a truck are often transported e.g. long vehicles, whereby a relatively slanting loading bridge would be needed. The loading bridges of a trailer used currently are unsatisfactory especially in this respect.
It has now been invented a loading bridge according to Claim 1. Certain preferred embodiments of the invention are shown in the independent patent claims.
By means of the invention is achieved most of all the fact that the loading bridge may be manufactured sufficiently slanting in order to load a long vehicle in the trailer, e.g. a bus, in spite of its long wheelbase as well as of a long front part and rear part.
One certain preferred embodiment of the invention is next described in more detail. In the drawings of the description, Fig. 1, 2 and 3 show the usage of an inventive loading brid- ge.
The Figures show a truck ,1, which is provided with an inter- changable bridge equipment 2, to which is connected an inter- changable bridge 3. The interchangeable bridge equipment may be of any type.
The bridge 3 also acts as a loading bridge for the trailer 4. The rear end of the .bridge is provided with locking members 5 and the front end of the trailer 4 is provided with coun- termembers 6, by means of which the bridge may be pivotably coupled to the trailer to the front edge of its loading bridge.
The bridge 3 has a front edge 8 turning orwards on a shaft 7.
When there is a need to fix the bridge 3 to the trailer 4, the car 1 is reversed to the front of the trailer and the bridge is placed by means of the equipment 2 into such a position that the members 5 and 6 may be coupled. The bridge is then lowered down in a conventional manner, whereby the rear end is fixed to the trailer. Finally, the bridge is loosened from the car and the front edge 8 is turned to the ground.
The inclination of the loading bridge 3 is very slanting, whereby e.g. a bus may be driven to a trailer 4.
There are also arranged at the rear end of the trailer mem¬ bers 6' for coupling the bridge 3.
Support legs may also be connected to the ends of the trailer 4, by means of which support legs the trailer may be suppor¬ ted in connection with loading or unloading.
When a trailer provided with an air spring suspension is used, the inclination of the trailer may also be adjusted in connection with loading or unloading by means of the spring suspension by lowering or raising the front end or the rear end.
Claims
1. A loading bridge to be coupled to a trailer, characterized in that the loading bridge is an interchangeable bridge (3) , at the rear end of which are located locking members (5) for coupling the bridge turnable in a vertical direction relata- tive to the trailer such that a loading bridge extending to the loading plane of the bridge is formed.
2. A loading bridge according to Claim 1, characterized in that at the rear end of the interchangable bridge (3) are located locking members (5) for coupling the bridge turnable in a vertical direction to the front end or rear end of the trailer.
3. A loading bridge according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that at the front end of the bridge (3) is located a front edge (8) turnable forwards.
